Parliamentarian Duminda Silva was granted three months medical leave by parliament a short while ago.The leave beginning from June 24 has been granted for the third consecutive time.

Mr. Silva sustained serious injuries in a broad daylight shootout at Mulleriyawa in October last year. He was flown to Singapore for treatment. Former presidential advisor Bharatha Lakshman Premachandra and three others were killed in the shooting.

If an MP does not attend Parliament for more than three months at a stretch without approval, he or she ceases to be a member. The motion seeking leave was presented by Chief Government Whip Dinesh Gunawardane.

Mr. Silva was previously granted leave by Parliament on December 24 last year and on March 24.

His medical bill in Singapore is paid by the govt.

Prime minister who is 81 years old is in Singapore.

Recently Jayalath Jayawardane did the same.

While Supreme court is forcing the govt to have a drug plan.

What is happening to the voters who voted these people into the parliament ?

I don't think Sri Lankan news media will report any of these discrepancies because any such voices are silenced by the govt by giving interest free loans even to the retired journalists.

Retired journalists want a car only to sell the permit and earn some money as some monks have done it.

Why Wijedasa rajapakse did not talk when monks got car permits ?

Instead he wants to ban monks from politics.

Strangely, neither the Court nor the Parliament is asking for medical records to support the applications. This is the case of 'father said so', 'Lawyer said so', 'Dinesh said so' !!!
