Instead of antagonizing Western Powers, we should learn how to be a Friend (if not an Ally). A Carefully planned balance foreign policy will help us to get the help from every one in this World.

Egomaniac dictator thinks that he is the king and only he can make decision. He is a smart, cleaver and sly local politician but ZERO with international politics. I wrote following prior to UNHRC resolution.

I posted long ago that it's better to negotiate with USA and EU something.

So better try to negotiate something with USA and EU.

But 'I the KING' did not want to negotiate or talk to USA even he fused to send F/M to talk with Hilary when she invited.

SimpleMinds is an idiot, but I think he has a point here. Being a small nation, we have more to lose being aligned with anyone, than being non-aligned and neutral.

Haalmassa:

Long ago, Sri Lanka kept on changing the name also socialist to democratic and those days, Sri Lanka depending on the govt were either left (russia) or right (USA) leaned. those days we were getting help from eithe rRussia or USA and not from both.

LAter Sri Lanka gave up everything, I think once the non-aligned movement came and changed the name to Democratic-socialist republic.

I remember period like that.

A WARM JUBILEE WELCOME to Madapakshe

Diaspora activists have received information that Rajapakse will be arriving on Sri Lankan Airlines flight UL505 on the night of the 3rd of June at terminal four in Heathrow airport. VIP clearance has been requested and granted. If Rajapakse sticks to this plan, there is no doubt whatsoever that he will receive a very warm welcome on arrival. Of course, now that this is in the public domain it may be liable to change.

It is not clear where he and his entourage will stay,
but once again the Dorchester hotel is the obvious choice. It is in very close proximity to the Sri Lankan High Commission. If there is risk of a warrant being served, one can easily flee to Sri Lankan soil in the High Commission at Hyde Park Gardens

Hahaha !

'It is a lie to say the rupee is depreciating for no reason,' he said.

According to Weerawansa, the economic assassins operating in various places in the country can depreciate or appreciate the rupee.

He also questioned if there was anything wrong in using the country's foreign reserves to help the country's economy when billions have been pumped to operate the loss making SriLankan and Mihin Lanka airlines.

The reversed deal between Sri Lanka s premier savings bank, the National Savings Bank and The Finance Company PLC continues to affect the government with the UNP raising the issue at a recent luncheon meeting at the Norwegian ambassador s residence in Colombo.

UNP National Organizer, Daya Gamage told the gathering that the former Chairman of the NSB, Pradeep Kariyawasam, involved in the transaction was none other than the husband of the incumbent Chief Justice, Shiranee Bandaranaike.

Gamage, whose wife, Anoma is a UNP National List MP, alleged that the country hadn t been able to attract foreign direct investments in the absence of consistency and good governance, sources said.

Responding to a query by The Sunday Island, sources quoted Gamage as having said: the NSB-TFC deal stinks of corruption. The former Chairman of the NSB is the husband of the Chief Justice.'

What's wrong talking the truth......??

NSB TFC deal,One of the worst blunders to Sri Lankan Banking sector and a eye opener to Government Officials.

Regime has given top Gov jobs to Relatives of Heads of Departments to make sloopy decisions and accept wrong doings.

Regime getting exposed from every move.

Truth hurts.

A 14 year-old school boy was injured due to a blast believed to have occurred from an anti personnel mine on the Chalai-Chundikulam lagoon in Mullaitivu Saturday evening, Military spokesman Brigadier Ruwan Wanigasuriya said.

The child had sustained injuries to one leg and was admitted to the Kilinochchi Hospital. According to the Army, the victim had come about 2km from his house to the lagoon to catch crabs.

They believe that an anti personnel mine which was laid on the bank may have washed to the lagoon due to rain.(

this is why the re-settlement is taking longer and which the interfering Int'l community does not understand.
