ITAK's clarification
The ITAK constitution does not call for two seperate soverign countries for Tamils and Muslims, TNA leader M.A.Sumanthiran said, after reading The Hindu's article in this website. The original is in Tamil (see PDF) and means autonomy or self-rule and not the creation of separate countries that the Sixth Amendment prohibits.

SF should make this kind of statements.
Sri lankan people will vote a politician against corruption as well as one who protects the majority needs.
Most of the politicians in the parliament are present thieves or thieves in the past or their children who are waiting for the opportunity to steal again.
Trust can be restored only by allowing people of various ethnicities to live and do business with each other. But it will not come overnight. You need time. It may take 20 years, may be a generation of living together. We have to be patient. After all, the distrust we see today is the result of 30 years of fighting, he explained. |

Sri Lanka s Ambassador to Geneva Tamara Kunanayakam has decided to step down as a diplomat following her sudden transfer to Cuba.
Kunanayakam told the Asian Tribune website that she will not accept the position of Ambassador either to Cuba or Brazil and is also not interested in continuing as the Head of the Permanent Mission in Geneva.
Kunanayakam also accused the government of changing its foreign policy from the concept of non-alignment.
She also insisted that she had not leaked a letter she had sent to the External Affairs Ministry after she was given the transfer order, to the media.
I learnt that HE was of the opinion that I was the person who was responsible for leaking that letter, Kunanayakam said.
In conclusion I wish to say that I am not interested in continuing with any political appointment and accept any diplomatic postings, she said. |

Couple of reporters 'The Hindu' are in MR's hands, same like 'Asian Tribune'.
Now MR & Bros company and media will do everything, in every possible way to portrait SF is a traitor, anti-Srilankan, Pro-Tamil...etc

MR needn't do anything to discredit SF, SF's got plenty of skeletons his own cupboard, people know what SF's capabilities are, they also know what damage SF did with his mouth.
SF is a fool, the second day out of prison he's giving controversial speeches to the BBC, it just seems like he want to start where he left off. Let me tell you, if SF and his big mouth shoots off again the people won't show any sympathy to him this time around.
IMO, Sri Lanka has some of the best holiday resorts in the world, why on earth doesn't SF make use some of these facilities and take a couple of months off and enjoy some quality time with his wife & children and think about his future. He should have done this at the onset without carrying on barking like some ungrateful so & so. |

The United National Party (UNP) today accused the government of attempting to save face by getting down Indian celebrities and showing a rugby festivity.
The public cannot be deceived, no matter what festival is shown, UNP Spokesperson MP Gayantha Karunathilaka said.
He questioned why the government is not organizing a festival to uplift volleyball, which is the national sport of Sri Lanka.
On the cost of fuel, speaking at a press conference in Colombo, Gayantha claimed that despite oil price presently declining in the global market, fuel prices in Sri Lanka continues to remain at a very high level.
Due to what reason is the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation (CPC) incurring losses when the Lanka IOC gaining profits, he inquired from pressmen.
