Who pays for these thamashas. While majority struggle this guy just going up and down as if going to neighbors house. As long as there are stupid modayas there why not exploit the situation. Is he taking Rabuttan Maha Keliya with him? Hope they don't fall down in Bankok Patpong area?

President on double tour to Thailand

Later visits to see the Queen, the Pope, Brazil and Cuba
By Our Diplomatic Editor
In an unusual move, President Mahinda Rajapaksa will pay a four-day official visit to Thailand during which he will return to Sri Lanka and go back again to that country to resume his tour.

The return for one night is to attend the wedding of the grandson of Livestock and Rural Community Development Minister Arumugam Thondaman. President Rajapaksa and an entourage will arrive in Bangkok s Suwarnabhumi International Airport on Tuesday May 29. In the evening he will attend a reception for the Sri Lankan community at the Sri Lanka Embassy. The next day he will meet Thai Prime Minister Yingluck Shinwatra for talks.

A luncheon for Rajapaksa and nine members of his entourage will follow. In the evening, he will call on the Thai Royal Family including the revered King Bhumibol Adulyadej.

Sri Lanka at the UN in Geneva, has declined to accept a posting order to move to Havana from July 1. Ravinath Ariyasinha, Ambassador in Brussels has already been named as her successor.

In the light of these developments, EAM sources said yesterday, Esala Weerakoon, Sri Lanka s Deputy Ambassador in Washington, is being posted temporarily as acting Ambassador in Cuba until President Rajapaksa s visit is concluded.

Why do you call them modayas? Hope they don't attack Hindu temples until this event is over.

Fear of Jupiter prompts poojas

Hundreds of people are queuing up at kovils and temples in various parts of the country for poojas and offerings to overcome what they believe to be the ill-effects of the Jupiter planetary change.

The planetary change began on May 17 and may last one year, prompting people to seek divine blessings to ward off the Jupiter malefic. Our Kataragama correspondent K.D. Devapriya said large numbers including politicians and businessmen were turning up for poojas in view of the planetary change.

Similar crowds were seen at the Munneswaram temple in Chilaw yesterday. Popular Astrologer Chintha Wickremesinghe said the people were not only holding poojas to overcome the ill-effects, but some of them were making offerings to get the blessings of the planetary change.

Do you need a proof for such an obvious thing?

How do you know that the world is spherical?

If MR was the injured, should he pay using his own money? If Keheliya was on official visit, then is it wrong for the government to pay?

Need to beg money from Brazil to pay the interest for loaned money from China. You can not beg money from China to pay it's own interest payment.

Oh...that is a very good one!

But these guys have the capability to do that too.

If these beggars can travel like this as no body's business with a whole lot of jokers, coming back to attend wedding and then going back................deiyane what these buggers won't do?

But they are very thankful to some of the congenital modayas and many of them have run away from SL, are backing these misdeeds. Will any other leader do such a thing?

These nariyas who back these misdeeds want the country to go down some more so that they can visit their 'MY Country' from abroad wearing Kotta kallissama, Sunglasses,Joggers with their gahanies in strapless dresses and G-strings to show off to the starving natives. Go to the markets throw rupiyalays like a piece of paper and buy things that poor Banda and Silva can't ever imagine.

So Percy Maama while in 'MY Country' lives like a Rajaru.

Four became 50 for Qatar tour

A four member entourage on President's tour of Qatar rose to over 50 when the departure date neared.
Originally it was External Affairs Minister G.L. Peiris, Environment Minister Anura Priyadarshana Yapa, President's Secretary Lalith Weeratunga and EAM Monitoring MP Sajin de Vass Gunawardena who were to accompany him, officially. They flew direct to Doha from Washington D.C.

Parliamentarian A.H.M. Azwer was to make a plea to President Rajapaksa that he be included in the delegation. The reason - he wanted to visit his son who is working in Qatar. The request was allowed.
As one UPFA parliamentarian remarked, at least for four days there were only a handful of UPFA Muslim Parliamentarians left. Others have all joined the delegation. Among them: Ministers A.H.M. Fowzie, Rauff Hakeem, Rishard Bathiuddin and Deputy Minister Faizer Musthapha.
