If they were robbers how come they left almost everything the murdered man had ?

State trying to cover a daylight murder.

SRI LANKA HAS LONG LOST ITS OWN CREDIBILITY.

I quote Pillai12 as saying

Sri Lankan news sources say that nothing was stolen from the room occupied by the late Mr Anthonipillai. There were torture marks on his body and there were signs of mutilation of his genitals. Locals rule out robbery motive. Some arrests were made but what next? Hint: On 2011 X'mas night British tourist Kuram Shaika was killed in Tangalle, Sri Lanka. The main suspect had strong political connections. No prosecutions so far.

Rajah2000 as saying

So let me get this straight. This man goes to an area in Sri-Lanka that is armed to the teeth by non-Tamil Sri-Lankan soldiers and asks for his property back from the same Sri-Lankan army that is now occupying it. He is later found hacked to death and mutilated. And now Sri-Lanka, under international pressure including from Canada to investigate this death claims that it was a robbery by tamils. So I suppose these 'robbers' hacked him to death and mutilated him in an attempt to steal his organs? What exactly were these 'robbers' after and what did they accomplish stealing? And if the area is teeming with soldiers, how in the world did this happen? Robbery indeed. This fabrication by the Sri-Lankan government has as much veracity as claiming that Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck flew over from Disneyland and carried out this killing. One good thing about this story is that Sri-Lankan government has been making a fool out of itself lately with unbelievable BS that has now the made the entire world not believe the Sri-Lankan Government anymore. This is another straw on the camel's back, keep it coming.

This is nothing new. Sri Lankan authorities and military killing Tamils and dissident Sinhalese and putting the blame on 'criminals'. This has happened many times before and it will continue to happen.

Jenny Sam

No, he wasn't robbed. In fact his money and Jewelly were not taken but only his laptop was taken. His room was ransacked. The arrest of some innocent people is a cover up by the Sri-lankan government and the military to hide the truth. Feel sorry for the scape goats who got arrested. Only the Sinhalese military was trying to rob his land and he was fighting against them to get his property back.
But what else can you expect from such a brutal government?

more..
Shanty
This is the direct result of Sinhala Army occupation of Tamil speaking areas. Two weeks back they shot a 15-year boy for his cattle damaging Wesak (Buddhist festival) celebration and there are many instances where civilians were mercilessly attacked for petty things. Gotabaya Rajapaksa, the Defence Secretary, wants his army to rule Tamils with iron fist. He enjoys his dual nationality with US and control and take revenge on helpless people. He is the one in charge of white van kidnapping and torture.

Raskolnikov

The Sri Lankan government is not reknowned for its truthfulness. Take their statement with a pinch of salt.

If MR was the injured, should he pay using his own money? If Keheliya was on official visit, then is it wrong for the government to pay?

It seems like Keheliya is going to sue the hotel for whatever.

It is easy to complain but no use unless you suggest the right way of doing things.

Never,

Come on man, you fall down and expect the public to pay the bill? He should have had an insurance cover. That is a condition for all official travels, may not be in SL for these sharks.

On the other hand he went there to see his children and that is how patriots have one foot in Lankawa and other in developed countries. It seems a private trip my dear?

3/4 of the patriots who cry in this forum are the guys who have deserted SL and this 'kathawa' about 'My country' is just a hobby and sheer Bull sh!!ting.

Here we go.
we just sponsored 50 people for a public paid vacation.
Sri Lankan airlines losses will further mount.
Four became 50 for Qatar tour

A four member entourage on President's tour of Qatar rose to over 50 when the departure date neared.

Originally it was External Affairs Minister G.L. Peiris, Environment Minister Anura Priyadarshana Yapa, President's Secretary Lalith Weeratunga and EAM Monitoring MP Sajin de Vass Gunawardena who were to accompany him, officially. They flew direct to Doha from Washington D.C.

Parliamentarian A.H.M. Azwer was to make a plea to President Rajapaksa that he be included in the delegation. The reason - he wanted to visit his son who is working in Qatar. The request was allowed.

As one UPFA parliamentarian remarked, at least for four days there were only a handful of UPFA Muslim Parliamentarians left. Others have all joined the delegation. Among them: Ministers A.H.M. Fowzie, Rauff Hakeem, Rishard Bathiuddin and Deputy Minister Faizer Musthapha.

Ha ha. Ctru,
You did not desert SL and went to the west? So what gives you the right to criticize every move that GOSL makes but not criticize the morons who destroyed our country through terrorism for 30 years? How about offering some constructive suggestions?

As for Keheliya, I am not sure who is paying the bill, but he should have had travel insurance, if nothing else. As the media minister he has a right to travel even if it involves seeing his kids.
