Sri Lanka`s Minister of Mass Media and Information Keheliya Rambukwella says the President has been able to defeat the most brutal terrorist outfit in the world within three years and it is not difficult for him to face future challenges.
Addressing a media briefing at his residence, Minister Rambukwella, who returned to the country Friday after a three-month stay in Australia said President has confidence and strength to face any challenge posed by international community.
The Minister was receiving medical treatment in Australia following a fall from the balcony of a hotel in Melbourne on February 07 this year. He was in Melbourne to care for his son, cricketer Ramith Rambukwella, who was undergoing a medical procedure.
He expressed confidence that the international community has realized the real situation in Sri Lanka and advised the former Army Commander Sarath Fonseka not to make an attempt to take undue advantage from the presidential pardon granted to him.
The Minister said Fonseka made some baseless statements during the last election period and he has a right to express his views but asked him not to make any statements which will help the pro-LTTE Tamil diaspora.
The Minister said he has completely recovered from the injuries except for a slight limp.
