Former Army Commander Sarath Fonseka, who was released on a special presidential pardon on Monday, is to form a new political party named, Democratic Party led by him, MP Jayantha Ketagoda said.
We have already forwarded the application to the Elections Secretariat for registration and awaiting its approval, said Mr. Ketagoda, who is the Chairman of the party.
He also said MP Arjuna Ranatunga and Anoma Fonseka will be the Co-Deputy Leaders of the Party while Tiran Alles will act as the General Secretary.
Mr. Ketagoda said that other officials would be named once the registration process was completed.

SF can lead the party even from outside whether he is allowed in the parliament or not.
IT is very good UNP is trying to restore civic rights of SF too. SF should accept that.
Eliminate thieves as much as possible.

Sri Lanka is boasting a lot about exporting maize.
IT is good. But, they don't understand the way they do that cultivation, govt is losing money.
Govt support cultivation of improved varieties of Maize with SUBSIDIZED FERTILIZER. So, that Maize should cost far more than the prize that they are selling it back.

Army deserters
Those days, news papers said that there to be 15,000 army deserters.
Even though they were deserters they respect their superior. If they come and help him
Does SF have to interview every helper before getting their help ?
HOw in the world one can ask every helper, in preparing for an election, whether you are a deserter or not ?
There also, govt created another case.
That happens, when so many thieves, extortionists, criminals escape the LAW.... because they are the govt henchmen.
Besides, SF was retired those days.
