Here are pictures of a Buddhist stupa constructed at the pathway towards Mullivaikal.
And then they say they have a problem with a Mosque that stood for forty years. LOL
He is on record as stating that Sri Lanka belongs to Sinhalese Buddhists.
I think he would have learned a thing or two sitting in jail for 2 1/2 years.
Back then, he was a champion of human rights.
You cannot trust any of them, but if there is a mutual benefit then use them.

DVLADV,
I posted few additional comments in the previous page.
I hope SF had had lots of time to reflect on why Sri Lanka ended up like this. There is army of Tamil professionals and those who can put together serious investments as 'Sri Lankans', if the Sinhalese leaders in Colombo start acting like leaders of Sri Lanka and not as Sinhalese-Buddhist leaders with a tunnel vision that precludes Tamils as people of one country, as equal partners with the Sinhalese in the future of Sri Lanka.
If Sri Lankan Tamils feel they can identify with Sri Lanka, then, the next President does not need money from Arab countries and does not need to send even more Sri Lankan women as maids to work for people you wouldn't want to have as your neighbors.
Here are additional comments related to the question of 'us' versus 'them'. I hope we don't have to go there.

Former Chief Justice Sarath Nanda Silva yesterday observed that President Rajapaksa had not granted a full pardon to Gen. Sarath Fonseka.
The presidential pardon had not been backdated to the beginning of his sentence passed by the second military court martial, therefore he had lost his civic rights for seven years, the former Chief Justice said.
Making further observations on the pardon, Silva said when the President exercised his powers to grant a pardon to any prisoner it should not be done as a political act, but done as an act of a State leader.
Sarath Fonseka needed to be pardoned in two cases. They were the High Court conviction in the White Flag case and the second conviction by a military court. He had been fully pardoned from the High Court conviction, but he had not been pardoned from the part of the sentence already served from the second court martial conviction. What he had been pardoned from was the remaining part of the sentence, the ex-CJ said.
As he had not been pardoned from the portion of the sentence he had already served, he was liable to lose his civic rights for the next seven years. Gen. Fonseka had been made a prisoner in the open, he said. |

Yarlan,
They are cursed. Never they should have played with the Gods.
I feel the general opinion in India is changing too. What can they (the Sinhala Buddhist chauvinists) do against 1 billion (1'000'000'000 for AnuD) people ?
I wish that Sarath Fonseka is now enlightened and will know how to handle the situation. I honestly hope he is a man of deeds and words seeking for justice and peace as he said, a man who can show to us the truth of Buddha's teachings.

| SF will be more dangerous without civic rights than with. Right now he has authority without accountability. |
