We reject all types of communalism - Lankan President

We reject all types of communalism, be it Sinhalese, Tamil or Muslim. We will not let any communal force raise its head in Sri Lanka, President Mahinda Rajapaksa told Heads of media institutions at a breakfast meeting held at Temple Trees yesterday.
President Rajapaksa requested the Heads of Sri Lankan media organizations to act in a very responsible manner and requested their co-operation in not allowing communal elements to raise their head in the country.
President appealed to all media heads not to promote communal elements in any way through their newspapers, television channels and radios since it would be detrimental to Sri Lanka s progress and its reconciliation process. President Mahinda Rajapaksa said his wish was to see all Sri Lankans living in peace and harmony after he eradicated terrorism from Sri Lanka.

Minister S. B. Dissanayake last week thanked the Indian government for granting financial assistance to convert the war-damaged, former LTTE administrative complex in Kilinochchi, into the Agricultural Faculty of the Jaffna University.
Can sinhalese get some credit for the good things they are doing in the NE? Probably not, as long as diaspora is gung ho on hurting the sinhalese |

Talk is cheap why not bring in srtict hate crime laws to stamp out communalism and religious bigotry and enforce it? |

By making Sinhala only and Sinhalese Buddhism the state religion, that's what the Sinhalese uneducated politicians thought...
No exclusivity for Sinhala. That's all we ask for.

No you got it wrong. They got an inferior mentality and thought of making a level playing field. :)
The inferiority is in their mental state not in reality and nothing they do will correct it.
