I would not go that far. As you know, they have lived in SL for generations and they deserve to be Sri Lankans. However, all peelamists are welcome to join Eeelamaya in Tamil Nadu.

Before you comment on Bandaranayakes (not Chandarika ) just read about Bandaranayakes and the pathetic situation of Singhalayas at that time.
Bandaranayakes never ever did nepotism.
Not only Bandaranayakes (not Chandarika) but his Cabinet members too have not done nepotism.
Can you prove what you said?

I was not there but from what I have read, Banda declared 'sinhala only' policy. From whatever angle you look at it, I believe that was wrong. You make Tamils and others second class citizens overnight.
I do however believe that, going back as far back as early 1920s (again from what I have read), tamils advocated separatism.
If you have anything to show that Banda was fare in declaring sinhala only policy, I would like to see that. |

EElamaya - The question was do you know a specific case where a political or media oponent in USA was kidnapped with the patronage of an unknown power and the media and the FBI turned a blind eye to it. The purpose is to shut oponents up by creating a fear phychosis.
Is that not what is happening in SL?
Please dont beat about the bush. Give a direct answer.

So you want 75% of Singhala Buddhist to be 3 class citizens of their own country?

I will say it again.
The independence we, Singhalese, got 1948 was confined to papers only. Administration changed from Sudda fellows to aristocratic Singhalayas like Senanayakes. Tamils and Burghers were dominating Govt. departments because administration was done in English and also Christians, although they were 6% of total population, were very powerful. Those days people use to say it is not Senanayake who run the country but Women of Colombo 7. Under those circumstances Sinhala Buddhist did not have place in the society. Singhala people who came to Govt office treated as Godayas . We singhala people had very few good schools in Colombo but Tamils had 30 or 32 good schools in Jaffna.
Directors of St. Joseph and St Peter s collages use to say let Ananda and Nalanda send Soldiers we send officers.
Keep in mind at that time we did not have language problem with Tamils.
Great Mr. S.W.R.D.Bandaranayake realized the pathetic situation of Majority Singhala Buddhists.
So he decided to run the administration in Singhala to facilitate 75% of total population of Sri Lanka. Is there anything wrong in that?
Bandaranayake s Singhala only policy was not against Tamils but against aristocratic English administration system.
Is there any Govt. Department other than foreign department that can t run in Singhala?
With his Singhala only policy thousands of Singhala lads and lasses from villages entered Govt service.
Actually Bandaranayake made a pact with Mr. Chevanayakam to facilitate Tamils but we Singhalese did not allow it to be implemented. That is our fault but still we had reasons for that.

Yes these Tamil buggers went before Soulbury commission objecting our getting independence.
These buggers preferred to be slaves under white masters.
