People should elect capable and competent officials.
Can you give some examples of countries where capable and competent people are elected?
In the oldest democracy, we have had Presidents and Congressmen who had to look after those who funded their election campaign. Result, blood bath and wanton destruction in Asia, Africa and the Middle East with tens of millions killed and many more wounded/maimed and hundreds of millions terrorised into fleeing their homes to a life of abject poverty as refugees. The oldest democracy is racing towards bankruptcy and economic collapse and all it needs is another debilitating military adventure at the behest of interested parties which the elected representatives will duly oblige.
Unfortunately, democracy has been hijacked by powerful groups who place their selfish, narrow interests above that of the people as a whole and it is the ordinary people who suffer in the end. Whenever they vote at elections, they seem to be giving their consent to be exploited. |

Middle and lower middle class must be seeing MRs asss charya... good lessons for the foolish sri lankan majority. hope at least by now they will be able to differentiate the truth and lie. idiots..
You are very correct I too got fed up with MR and also confused.
So please suggest me the next person that I should support to elect as our president.

FYI, politicians are called elected officials. Actually, some are now appointed officials.
Some are working in the cabinet though they don't represent the ideals that they were selected by the people.
