After the war lots and lots of tourists are pouring into SL with millions of dollars in their pockets.
They must open one more harbour and one more airport to meet this heavy influx of tourists!
More tourists are good. New infrastructure is good except when they have to take huge loans to do them. We must give credit for improving the road network. It is much nicer now.

The name of General Sarath Fonseka, who provided military leadership to defeat the LTTE terrorism by killing Prabhakaran who was known as the number one terrorist leader of the world, has been removed from the annals of the Army. The medals he earned for heroic acts he performed by shedding his blood had been taken away from him. His pension has been stopped. General Sarath Fonseka who was the first General appointed under the Chief of Defence Staff Act has become a prisoner and identified by a number and languishing in the Welikada prison.
So grateful nation cooked and synthesized charges using jungle laws and made artificially forced judgements by using kangaroo courts. The leader and his followers are so heroic, keep up doing good work. |

The Government had spent rupees 2.3 billion in 2010 as taxes of the workers attached to the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation, Ceylon Electricity Board, National Water Supply and Drainage Board, Sri Lanka Ports Authority, Bank of Ceylon and People s Bank, Chairman of the COPE and senior minister DEW Gunasekera said yesterday.
Even labourers working in those institutions drew as much as 25,000 rupees each monthly, Minister Gunasekera said at a workshop conducted for the Divisional Secretaries at the Parliamentary Complex. Since 1999, the taxes of those workers had been paid by their institutions, even without Cabinet approval, the minister said. |
