The Police Narcotics Bureau (PNB) has informed Court that its detectives would use CCTV cameras set up at the Colombo Central Mail Exchange to trace the foreigner with regard to the hashish case, who had managed to escape from legal custody.

At the collection point, the parcels were opened in the presence of custom officials and two foreigners who had come to collect them. The parcels when opened were found to contain 366.70 grammes of hashish concealed inside magazines

In this case, the PNB detectives informed Court that three suspicious parcels had been received at the Colombo Central Mail Exchange by post from India addressed to Angela Seneviratne in Colombo 3. The postal authorities had informed the addressee to come to the Mail Exchange to collect the parcels.

At the collection point, the parcels were opened in the presence of custom officials and two foreigners who had come to collect them.

The parcels when opened were found to contain 366.70 grammes of hashish concealed inside magazines.

Filing a further investigative report in Court, the PNB informed Colombo Fort Magistrate that the suspect Josh Kerr Wilton had accompanied the Britisher Brutton Saul Felix (already in custody) to the Colombo Central Mail Exchange to collect three parcels addressed to film actress Angela Seneviratne. When the parcels, alleged to have contained hashish were opened in the presence of custom officials, the two foreigners had tried to run away with the three parcels, but one of them (Brutton Saul Felix) was arrested. The suspect Brutton Saul Felix was ordered to be remanded till May 8.

According to PNB further investigative reports, the two foreigners had arrived in the country on April 4 this year and were staying in a residence located at Hudson Road, Colombo 3. Meanwhile, the PNB informed Court that they would send the substance concerned to the Government Analyst in order to get an analytical report.

Further magisterial inquiry into the matter will resume on May 8.

All these are b/s and peanuts. Check ministers/d. ministers bags when they travel to Singapore and back. Specially, Dr. Mervin's.

CCTV cameras to trace Hashish mail recipient

I'm confused here, if they have already apprehended one person and they are aware of the ID of the other suspect? What is there to trace with CCTV?, just find the culprit and arrest him, simplezzz..

Dubai101,

thank you, advise was considered , the most braver one who has not realized the right and wrong yet pretend to be blind while every thing is happening as we speak.

Yes he is blind and can not understand right and wrong concept. Because one of his uncle is a minister who opens his mouth to eat only, the other uncle is GOTA's cook or..., and finally, you do not have to guess how he got a job in Srilankan embassy Singapore.

So, keep his Stomach full and suckmore are the more important than the country.

Every modaya knows our politicians are directly or indirectly promoting illegal drug business. Even the prime minister admits that some government ministers are involved in drug trade.

366.70 grammes of hashish

this is nothing.

Heroin: Based on the heroin seizures between 2006 and 2010, the estimated street level supply of heroin in Sri Lanka was 763 kg per annum or nearly 2 kilograms per day. This quantity was sufficient for a day's supply of 45,000 heroin dependents.
