The police have arrested a three wheeler driver who transported 14 schoolchildren at Keenagaspitiya in the Hasakala police area on Tuesday. Police headquarters said that the school children aged 5 to 13 years had travelled in the three wheeler for some time. A senior official blamed the parents for sending their children in spite of the risk. Responding to a query, he said that the suspect was given police bail but would be produced in the Mahiyangana Magistrate s Court on April 30.

The Chief Executive Officer of Dakshina Kannada Zilla Panchayat, K.N. Vijay Prakash, said here on Tuesday that the panchayat had proposed constructing toilets for all anganawadis in the district during the current financial year.
It planned to provide power connection to all anganawadis from next year.
Addressing a function organised to observe National Panchayat Day at the panchayat auditorium, Mr. Prakash said 598 anganawadi buildings among the 2,200 did not have toilets and 1,058 anganawadis did not have power connection.
In addition, the panchayat had been planning to install incinerators to dispose of sanitary napkins in all schools in a phased manner.
why dont these Indian delegation go and visit these places, to see their conditions?

In the late stages of her pregnancy, it became very difficult for Sunila Bai to walk the long distance from her colony Goswami Nagar, Kanpur in order to find a space for defecation. She was also scared, for only a few days ago a few men from her colony had been beaten up by policemen when they had gone to an open space to relieve themselves.

This yound lady's father was murdered during a street gun battle by an infamous drug lord Minister who is now lying on a hospital bed as a vegetable.In all likelyhood his hospital cost is met by Sri Lanka tax payers.
Eye witnesses saw him being shot and some of the eye witnesses were members of the SL Police. But the man who fired the shots was not even charged but instead escorted to a plane at peoples' expense.
Now is there anybody out there who can claim that SL has Rule of Law? If powerful Bharath can end up with this faith, what abourt an average Lankan who dare to speak?
