Cabraal's prediction, Rupee keeps on sliding. Now it is at 131.45 per dollar.
baduma thamai.. so the IMF loan could not stabilized the currency demand any more.. probably it may have been used to repay the loan installments..or to maintain Maihani AIR..
what is next, any more loans pending for approval ?? |

Oil consumption one major factor that contributes to rupee going down.
That may be the reason why govt is giving away oil imports to OIC. IF it is done by CPC, highprices will be a political issue.
When OIC does that people may scold India. that is all.
just simple as that...
oil was imported ever since and in the recent past it may have increased by marginal levels. that's not the issue. we do not have sufficient foreign reserves. as i have mentioned before at one given time we had just sufficient reserves to import for two months.
giving the controls of widely used commodities to a third party can really messed the lives that are struggling to survive even at present economical situations. this will really shows the incapability of the government in its crisis management. first the government created the crisis and now handing it over to third party to make it worse. this is the way forward Sri Lanaka. |

During my initial comments i have mentioned that Sri Lanka will face the similar situation such as Greece etc. but one of our intelligent replied saying that non of the sri Lnakans have lost their houses.
if the government continues spending money on any more white elephants, we are not so far away form experiencing it. no sooner the pensions will be stopped or start reducing, the interest rates will start shooting up, so that the borrowers will default. then what.. we have to asked the neighbors or third party for a bail out. definitely it will not come for free, it comes with conditions as mentioned above or even worse. we all have seen the cayuse in the EU. |

GL's problem is a typical old age syndrome among politicians. The types say one thing at a place and deny later in another place. God only knows what they are saying outside the country.
You can draw an analogy with Dimu's utterings regarding the Dambulla mosque.
