Islamic countriesare disturbed over the dambulla racism by Buddist talibans.

So even our scholar's fair cousins may have to come back to lankawa from kakussi cleaning. So only one is left in Australia. I am sure he too may go back to Lankawa as he is craving for his motherland and day and night dreaming about Dambulla

I respect you for your knowledge on buddhism

My knowledge of not only Buddhism but everything else is little or nothing. Knowing my limitations, I make it a point to ask questions in order to gather knowledge. I also share what I know with others whenever possible.

dear friend, isnt that what we all have been doing and will be doing right now? we all listen to news and read news on internet, without really knowing what happened, we accept them as truth.

This is really a very serious problem because most people believe what they read without questioning the source. When I was young, in my teens and twenties, I used to think everything that appears in the Western Media, like the Time, Newsweek, NYT, Washington Post etc. is truth and absolute truth. Only later in my age that I realised that the Western Media is controlled by those with vested interest and thereafter, I began to treat the Western Media with caution.

The lesson is not to accept something just because it appears in the Media or a website but to verify the source and exercise caution. Isn't that precisely what the Buddha said?

My advice in regard to the website you quoted, is for you to exercise caution and make further inquiries before you come to your conclusion.

nobody can control it when the super power controls everything. some of the african countries supported US bcos they get huge amount of donations from the US, which unfortunately as a developing country SL is in no capacity to do.

My humble opinion is that it is our government that blundered through sheer arrogance and ineptitude. We thought that we can take on the world by ourselves and totally misjudged the strength, interests and the capacity of the forces that we had to deal with.

The first blunder is to do nothing to work on a political solution for almost 3 years after wiping out the LTTE.

The next blunder was to play games with India. GLP makes a joint declaration with the Indian Foreign Secretary that SL will implement 13A in full when in India. Later, MR agrees with the Foreign Minister Krishnan that SL will go beyond 13A only to laugh it off later. That is rubbing India on the wrong side.

Now, it is not just India but the whole world. If we have learnt our lesson in Geneva, then we must stop playing games and set about seriously to find a political solution which will keep the international community at bay. If we continue to play to the gallery by screaming about the Tamil diaspora and intervention in internal affairs, but do nothing, we are sure to end up in a mighty mess. The Dambulla incident will serve to give more fodder for the world to turn the screws on us, as if they haven't got enough already.

Lets be realistic and come down from our high horse to face the world.

Thanks for the info.

JR only said buddha's word - hatred ceases not by hatred but by love .

Isn't that what you should be doing if you are REALLY following the Buddha and how easy it would make reconciliation and lead to peace and harmony. But you guys are doing just the opposite breathing fire and brimstone.

[I rather give our country to chinese or the russians but not to these tamils]]

These are words of absolute hatred that the Buddha advised against viz. 'hatred ceases not by hatred but by love'. Do you wan to follow the Buddha or not?

What if the Russians and Chinese chicken out as they did in case of the Iranians? Then, you will have to deal with the International community, right?

how many times when praba was alive had we invited them for peace talks? What did they do? During ceasefire they gathered more weapons and built their strenght and after that peace talks were over.

Just because buddha said to love those without hate, do you expect us to hand over the eelam? No way bro.

Have you seen even now they are not ready to settle down peacefully, TNA is playing a big game here, only going after what prabha wanted. When will they realise that eelam in SL will never happen?

Modaya, did buddha also asked to tell lies all the time or some time?

Where is Eelam request by TNA? The entire world now know that they ask only for a political settlement within unitary state and why are you telling a lie?

It is liers like you who distorts facts to avoid a settlelment. Where is your fcking 13++?

I am sure some where Buddha must have told you at least in a dream to lie, lie and lie and hate ..hate and hate!
