A group of Sri Lanka s most senior national rugby players are staying away from the national team after being overlooked for the captaincy.
The unprecedented decision was taken after the President Mahinda Rajapaksa s son, Yoshitha, was appointed captain in February for the HSBC Five Nation rugby Asiad in the Philippines.

Two of the senior players, Fazil Marija and Roshan Weerarathne of Kandy Sports Club (Kandy SC) are playing in New Zealand while the national currently tours Philippines.

The former vice captain Marija is currently the most senior national rugby football player in Sri Lanka.

NA, I asked these simple three questions from the Fake Russian but as usual he ran away with a bull sh1t excuse.

Let me ask a question since you say MR& CO are not good for SL. and you go on and on and on.......
Who should be the president,Finance minister, Defense secretary of SL NOW who can lead the country to maintain HR according to UN, give the rights to Tamils, strengthen the economy, stop white van rides, defend the SL from any future LTTE activities.

Just give me the 3 names, I don't need any explanation or excuses.

This is the answer when he does not have a answers.

N/A

Twenty years ago Mahinda Rajapaksa was a fiercely dedicated human rights lawyer and, along with Mangala Samaraweera, a pillar of strength to Mrs Sirimavo Bandaranaike who was heading the Mothers Front in southern Sri Lanka. The latter was a frontal organisation to fight for justice for the thousands of Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna (JVP) members killed by the Sri Lankan Army and police in their successful campaign against the Sinhala nationalist-terrorist force.

But now,

Today s situation is a complete reversal of the above. More than Presidents J.R. Jayewardene and Ranasinghe Premadasa, it is President Rajapaksa who is being increasingly and widely perceived as a fearsome embodiment of Sinhala nationalism, packaged as Sri Lankan nationalism, and a far worse perpetrator of human rights violations. While dictatorial practices have traditionally distorted democracy in Sri Lanka, the extent of human rights violations being witnessed under the present presidency irrespective of the ethnicity of the victims is unprecedented.

Never Again,

Ooops!
I guess people can say one thing with apparently 'authority' and then say something totally opposite appearing to be authoritative.

In Sri lanka paying taxes is voluntary.

Because of this, politicians don't have to declare their incomes and solid and liquid assets - every year.

I think govt has done that in order to protect politicians (they themselves) and their henchmen.

CHARLIE: That is why I say tge parliament need completely new blood. That is why I said that the GENERAL FONSEKA is good. But, you objected to that.

Because none of the present and existing politicians will not change the system that made them filthy rich.

Defence Secretary Gotabhaya Rajapaksa yesterday said that many of those listed missing during the war could have obtained new identities courtesy foreign governments.

The recent Gunaratnam affair revealed how Australia had issued a passport (N 1016123) to the leader of the newly formed Frontline Socialist Party (FSP) under a different name in spite of knowing his real identity, the Defence Secretary said.

This is a real possibility. I think the new census in NE will help determine how many tamils are left in the island. We need to make sure who among diaspora are true citizens.
