. But, Sri Lanka does not process vegetables to be used in the off season. Vegetables prices crash and people throw everything to garbage


This kind of things need some investments.....
But the fact that Sri Lankans are not much keen to buy the canned products.... Except canned fish.....so any investor have to consider that before invest in such a business.....

Two factories setup to produce canned fish...


Probably Employees need too much wages or for some reason,Sri Lankan cost of production is always very high for every thing unless the product is very highly value added..

That is very bad in the long run.

Sri Lankan people should grow up or perish.

Why don't wetamils talk about that Tamil who was beaten by guards in the detention center or the ones perished in the sea because smuggling boat sank ?

I know Haylis was working on some of those. Department of Agriculture and some universities had knowledge on that.

Develop local preserving methods.

The production is not enough...... But another few years time this will change.... Now vegitable prices are very low....
Rice from the new corp are enough for nine months.....

Cannot import five types of beans now....

Cashew import also temporarily stopped

Two factories setup to produce canned fish....
