Yes, it started very well with winning the war with SF against the LTTE, getting the IDP's back to their region, economical development / various projects, etc. He certainly passed his first leadership test.
Lee Kuan Yew said Singapore economy is in track for last 30+ years, but if a new leader comes and mess it up all the 30+ hard work would go wasted.
the economy is like a rocket going to moon. we can't be happy rocket had a nice take off and forget about rest of the trip. It should be on track all the time. |

National movement in Sri Lanka says lives of persons with dissenting voices in peril
Tue, Apr 10, 2012, 08:57 am SL Time, ColomboPage News Desk, Sri Lanka.
Apr 10, Colombo: The National Movement against Lawlessness in Sri Lanka says that lives of persons with dissenting voices and opposing views are in peril.
Convener of the Movement, parliamentarian Mangala Samaraweera made this comment in reference to the abduction of JVP dissident leader Premakumar Gunaratnam and Dimuthu Attygalle by armed groups.
Samaraweera has noted that following the comment by the Police Spokesperson that the two activists were not in police custody, the conclusion is that an armed group, not of the police, which is tasked with maintaining law and order of the country, had carried out the kidnapping of the leader of the Frontline Socialist Party (FSP), Gunaratnam.
'As has been pointed out by the National Movement against Lawlessness over and over again, none of the investigations into abductions and enforced disappearances have seen a successful conclusion,' he has said in a statement.
The statement further notes that 'The government has a duty to maintain law and order of the country, and the non-enforcement of that duty unavoidably results in the finger being pointed at the government.'

Whoever it is, they should have been thrown in jail for 10 years for entering the country illegally and for creating political agitation in Sri Lanka, we as a country should never allow foreign nationals come here to destabilise our country under any circumstances. |
