A man accused of trying to smuggle Sri Lankan Tamil migrants into Canada aboard the MV Sun Sea two years ago has been arrested in France, CBC News reported.
Thayakaran Markandu, who is accused of masterminding the trip that originated in Thailand, faces human smuggling charges, following the ship's landing in B.C. in August 2010.
The 492 Tamil migrants found on board have all made refugee claims.

The 'real' truth is that stupid Sinhalayas created VP, they made him a hero and they made Tamils to worship him and they made him the King Maker.
Do you think the great King of Dhamma Deepa and the New Editor of Mahavansa, Hon Percy Mahida, would have become the President of the Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka that now hanging in front of the world for crime against humanity?
The secret is VP knew that Percy will mess up things with ease and put himself into a mess and thus elected him as the President.
But some miscalculation has led to VP's early departure before he could see what he wanted to see!
But I am yet to worship VP, though I accepted him as an inevitable necessitive evil owing to sinhala stupidity and I curse VP for killing the civilians and missing all the good opportunities owing to his grandiose ideas and aggression, no way different to Percy King.

How could you condone what he did as 'necessitive evil' Killing innocent civilians (Kent and Dollar) cannot be justified regardless of who does it. You need to do some soul searching.
I believe MR did not kill civilians knowingly. So you cannot Percy and VP at the same level.
The tamils have a real problem with VP. He did more damage to the whole race than anyone else. |

Kent and Dollar farms were owned and developed by tamils, do you know that?
Then it was forcibly taken over in 1986 and prisoners who were just released or about to be released were sent there to settle down. Mr Delgoda, Commissioner of Prisons at that time was against that move yet Lalith and co went ahead with this project. Some Muslim prisoners too were sent there but there was a buddist priest who has handling the ground situation sent back the Muslims as he wanted it to be a pure Sinhala takeover! They also wanted healthy young males.
What they did was a purer racist crime. I have even spoken to the survivors of this massacre including some retired prison officers who were sent there. The survivors had bitterness not on the LTTE but on the Government for using them as guinea pigs. They told me that tigers on numerous occasions came to them and asked them to leave as it was tamil land that was already developed by them. But nothing happened and the authorities never took any action. These poor guys later anticipated trouble and they used to sleep on trees and in the jungles.
And one day LTTE attacked finally and killed a number of these guys. Many ran into jungles and escaped and that was the end of it. One more interesting thing was that some women who came with these convicts as their wives were in fact not their wives but some other women (keeps) and the authorities had big problem paying compensation as people were mixed up.
When I said 'Necessitive evil' it means that the sinhala military was playing hell in the N&E and finally the LTTE was able to confine them to the camps and protected the people. This is another shortcoming in our long tragedy because all these sins committed on the Tamil people never came out or they were turned and twisted. Sinhala people never, even today, know the whole truth. On top of that they have spread so much racial venom that no one cares about right or wrong.
The media, the forces, the government, Judiciary, are all sinhala owned and sinhala controlled and no tamil believe them with very valid reason. President of a country boasting that 'Not a single civilian was killed in his humanitarian operation'! It was just bull sh..t and he does not care a damn about the victims. Is this his 'Home grown reconciliation'? Any tamil who spoke out or exposed the truth was murdered.
So what do you expect? Do you expect them to be patriotic? The problem for Tamils today is mainly what Mahinda had done. How can you say that he did not kill tamil civilians intentionally? As commander in chief he should have known that heavy weapons, cluster bombs, incendiary bombs cannot be used in a small area and that too was declared by the government as 'No fire Zone'! He is totally responsible for those innocent deaths and also responsible for telling a blatant lie.
Tamils are mostly against Mahinda and his gang only than against Sinhala people or certainly not against Sri Lanka. Mahinda s so called home grown solution is an eye wash and he must understand that tamils have a history and identity in SL in no way different to the Sinhalese and thus any solution should be focused on it. Just saying that tamils are living happily in the south is simply non-sense and has no substance at all.

How can a Singalaa express the feelings of a Tamil...!
Look at what had happened because of the brave decision taken by Gen. Dr. V. Prabhakaran, more than 30 year ago:
-- Tamils were able to establish themselves as business tycoons, lawyers, doctors, professors, etc..in key Western countries
-- Tamils were able to claim the victory of Obama and Obama delivered his promise in Geneva just weeks ago
-- Tamils are now calling all the shots in UK, US, Canada
-- The millennium-old Tamil Dream of establishing a sovereign nation comprising of Tamil Nadu and island of illankai (or Ceylon) is almost there...and GTR is unstoppable...
All these would have never happened if Hon. Gen. Dr. VP did not take that bold step...!
