I knew during JR's time Muslim thugs were transported to the east to attack tamils and to create trouble between tamils and muslims. This was executed by MH Mohammad a muslim stooge for JR. In fact the truth was found out but as usual sinhala rulers got away.
It is also well known that Muslims played a very important double game exploiting both major races so that they benefited in between. However, what was told about the north and the seige of jaffna fort is unknown to be. |

Tamils and Muslims of the North and East had a cordial relationship. In fact, there were Muslim youth who were members of the LTTE even for some time after the relationship got strained.
Things began to sour when the LTTE/Tamil Groups started to target Muslims holding high positions in the North and East in, I think, the mid 1980s in places like Mannar and Trinco. where GAs and Assisiant GAs were killed. In Batti, places like Eravur, Valachena and Kattankudy were attacked not only by the LTTE but also other groups like TELO and PLOTE. This set off the panic button among Muslims.
The JR govt. exploited this situation by using the STF which was trained by the Israelis. Muslim counter attacks against the Tamils were instigated and facilitated by the STF.
The LTTE and the other Tamil groups totally misjudged and mishandled the Muslims of the East particularly, thinking that they can be intimidated and subdued.
In the end, it worked out well for the country as a whole because, if not for the Muslims, the country would have been divided in 1994 when the LTTE occupied all Police Stations in the East and killed hundreds of Muslim and Sinhala Police men and prevented troops and reinforcements reaching the East. It is the Muslim numbers in the East that made it impossible for the LTTE to maintain the siege for long.
Of course, while the Tamils will never forgive the Muslims for preventing what could have been, the Sinhala racists have already forgotten the key role played by the Muslims in thwarting the plan to divide the country. |

Two arrested from JVP dissident group
Mr. Premakumar Gunarathnam the leader of the JVP dissident group and Ms. Dimuthu Attigala a member of the same group are reported to be missing from yesterday night.
According to a report, published today in the Daily Mirror, both have been arrested. However the grounds on which they were arrested or the location of the place of detention have not been revealed.
The JVP dissident group has been known for taking a proactive task in supporting the a struggle of workers and other marginalized groups such as the fisher folk who have, in recent weeks, held various protest activities against the rise of oil prices and other livelihood issues.
It is no secret that the government and the Ministry of Defense are concerned about their activities.
The security of the two arrested persons is a matter of serious concern for all the human rights groups. Torture and other extra-legal punishments are a common practice of the law enforcement agencies in Sri Lanka and there are genuine fears for the well-being of these men.
The two persons arrested in December from this same group, Lalith Weeraraj and Kugan Muruganathan remain missing. For details please see: SRI LANKA: The disappearances of Lalith Kumar Weeraju and Kugan Murugan.
The Asian Human Rights Commission (AHRC) expresses concern about the security of these two person and request the government to reveal the reason for their arrest and their place of detention. The AHRC further urges the government to either release these two men immediately or, if in fact they have committed a crime, produce them before a court of law within the 24 hour period stipulated by law. |

What ever it is Sri Lanka looks like a Tamil-colony of Hindia.
Sri Lanka does not look at all like the countryof Sinhala people. IT was called Sinhale some time ago.
