I guess he can get away with saying anything without supporting arguments and critical of the view of his government, world powers and allies as long as he is an unelected member and in a permanent position. However, he is an embarrassment for the British Government that should control its policies and messages carefully without leaving room for the people to misinterpret in any way shape or form that this man's view is somehow represents his governmnet's view. Does he really believe that he knows better than the majority of nations in UNHRC or on the take?

I do not agree with those numbers too, but what about the following information?

I dont know whether you are aware that, LTTE thugs in October 1990 expelled more than 75,000 Muslims men, women and children with only the clothes they were wearing and requested to never return under pain of death. Even the jewellery the women were wearing was wrenched out from their ears and neck by these thugs.

The above incident was true and it was one of the gravest blunders the LTTE did at that time. They tried to correct their stupidity but the damage was done.

LTTE claimed and it was true that some Muslim guys were acting as spies and providing information to the security forces. That behavior of the Muslims is nothing new as it was their double game to survive. During the anti-tamil riots the guys who looted the tamil property were Muslims as well. While sinhala thugs vandalised things these guys looted.

Yet chasing them out of Jaffna withing such a short notice was a real crime. But the word jewelry 'wrenched' was not true at all but instead they were made to remove. LTTE though committed several crimes they cannot be really called as thugs but militant groups who mostly had some kind of code of conduct unlike other tamil groups whom I will not hesitate to call as thugs.

The demonisation of the LTTE serves actually to scuttle the real debate in Sri Lanka. Its rise was prompted by a failure of a democratic discourse in independent and pre-independent Ceylon. The call for an independent Tamil Eelam was not the brainchild of any militant group. It was adopted on May 14, 1976 by Tamil United Liberation Front (TULF), an umbrella group of Lankan Tamil political parties, at Vaddukoddai in Jaffna Peninsula. Tamils had overwhelmingly voted in favour of that idea in the 1977 elections, the last one in united Sri Lanka before the Civil War overtook it. The Vaddukoddai Resolution was the last bow SJV Chelvanayakam, often nicknamed the Gandhi of Jaffna, who since 1956 had democratically worked towards a federation scheme.
The word Tamil Eelam in modern times was used as early as 1923 by Sir Ponnambalam Arunchalam, thirty years before Prabhakaran was born. Arunachalam, founding President of Ceylon National Congress, fed up with Sinhalese domineering left its ranks in 1921 to establish Ceylon Tamil League in 1923. Ponnambalam Arunachalam passed away in 1924 while on a pilgrimage to Madurai. But it s time we realised there s a fundamental ethnic problem in Sri Lanka, which cannot be resolved militarily.

The muslims were asked to leave North for their own safety.
Because of the attacks on Tamils in the East by muslim hooligans a tense situation developed in the North.
Sinhala nazi cowards occupying North, with the help of Dogclas gang were planing to instigate a race riot against the Muslims in Jaffna and to put the blame on the Tigers, which also would have created problem for the Tigers in their fight against the sinhala nazis.
So to prevent a clamity they requested the muslims to leave.
It should be noted that, not even a finger was laid on any muslim woman in the North.Where as in the East, hundreds of Tamil women were raped and killed by the Muslim hooligans.
Tigers intention was good but execution was at fault. They should have allowed the muslims to take their money and other valuables and given more time to leave..

Never Again,

It is other way around. The sinhala majority started bullying the tamils even during the British period and thus the tendency for emancipation had started prior to independence. But such gestures were only symbolic and even during the time of Independence Tamils supported the move based on the promise made by Sinhala leaders including DS. But within days as usual Sinhalese went back on their promises.

The rest in history.

D.S. Senanayake s speech in 1945 to solicit support from the minorities to accpet the Westminister type parliament went like this, ' ... through out this period the Ministers had in view one objective only, the attainment of maximum freedom. Accusations of Sinhalese domination have been bandied about. We can afford to ignore them for it must be plain to every one that what we sought was not Sinhalese domination, but Ceylonese domination. We devised a scheme that gave heavy weightage to the minorities we deliberately protected them against discriminatory legislation. We vested important powers in the Governor-General. We decided upon an Independent Public Service Commission so as to give assurance that there should be no communalism in the Public Srvice.(sic) I do not normally speak as a Sinhalese, and I do not think that the Leader of this Council ought to think of himself as a Sinhalese representative, but for once I should like to speak as a Sinhalese and assert with all the force at my command that the interests of one community are the interests of all. We are one of another, what ever race or creed.'
Despite all those noble words, I enumerate here some of the events that soon followed. All those promises by the Sinhalese were infact total and outright deceptions:

1948 1 million Tamils declared as non-citizens
1949 Sinhalese colonization in traditional Tamil homeland
1956 Sinhala made sole official language of the country
1970 Ethnic standardization slashes university admission to Tamils
same entrance exam, but Tamils need to score 30% more
1972 New constitution without Tamils participation
Unilateral name change from Ceylon to Sri Lanka
Declaration of Sri Lanka as a republic
Buddhism made state religion
1977 - Prevention of Terrorism Act

Never Again,

Referring to LTTE thugs, the thugs are these guys belonging to Douglas etc who are protected by the Mamma's ruthless regime. Please read how these thugs operate and certainly I hate Percy Mahinda and his thugs for protecting such tamil thugs. I will appreciate Maama if he could do to these guys what he did to innocent civilians in 2009

Delft, being home to approximately 1500-2000 people now, is quite obviously a close-knit community, much like any other small town. However, the Kachchatheevu Feast (St. Anthony s Church Feast), which is of great religious significance to Christians having drawn over 5000 devotees this year, resulted in Delft being almost deserted at the time Lakshini met with her brutal end. Lakshini had left home for the fish market at about 8am on that fateful day, with the 100 rupee note her mother had given her to buy fish, clasped in her hand. Later that day, when she hadn t yet returned home, her family and relations had started to search for her in their neighbourhood. My relatives saw my child (Lakshini) being picked up by Jegatheswaran (the alleged perpetrator) whilst she was on her way to the fish market. He had told her to come with him that he would get her some fish, as fish was unavailable at the market that day. He was the one who killed my daughter, said Lakshini s distraught mother.

The Police was notified about this incident by woman from the village who had discovered Lakshini s body on her way to chop firewood. We found Lakshini s half naked body, lying face down at a bare land approximately 30Ms down a little lane nearby the Pillaiyar Temple, at the 10th Region of Delft. She was only wearing her Shalwar top, as her trousers had been removed, and she had received multiple injuries to her head. A bicycle, an empty bottle of Arrack (quarter pint), a 100 rupee note and a few coins, and a large stone were found alongside the body of the victim, elaborated the Delft Police. As the Kayts Magistrate was due to arrive from Kayts the next day, to initiate an enquiry into her death, villagers had stood guard over her body until the judge arrived to the scene. The Post Mortem Report stated that the child had been raped and later killed as a result of having her head smashed by a rock.

I lost my dearest daughter Lakshini. I can t believe he did this to my daughter. I heard that there was a bottle of alcohol near her body, and that her dress was all disheveled. The money she had been given to buy the fish too was still there on the ground next to her, and her head had been severely injured. I was also told that he had attempted to strangle her. I simply cannot bear the loss of my daughter, lamented Lakshini s father tearfully.

As this was not the first incident of assault/abuse of girls in the area that Jegatheswaran has been accused of, on discovering Lakshini s body, the villagers had stormed into his house, dragged him out onto the street, and started beating him up. Eventually, the Navy had intervened and handed him over to the Delft Police.

Villagers said that Jegatheswaran had been former EPDP Commander, Napoleon s right hand man, and also a suspect in the murder of Jaffna based Journalist Mylvaganam Nimalrajan. In addition to the two above mentioned cases, villagers claimed that he had also attempted to abuse two other young girls, a mere two days prior to this incident. The villagers are enraged at the inaction of the Police, even after having lodged multiple complaints against the perpetrator, and are therefore convinced that it is as a result of some political influence that he was released by the Police, thus enabling him to carry out this heinous crime.

Yes, the continuous killings and raping of Tamils at the border villages in East, mainly by Muslims border guards with the support of SLA, coupled with the findings of two lorries full of machetes and swords collected by Muslims at their neighborhoods - Osmonia college surroundings - to join hands with the SLA who were trying to break out from the LTTE siege at Jaffna fort, prompted then the Eastern commander of LTTE, Karikalan, not by Jaffna command of LTTE, to take such drastic decision of expelling all the Muslims from Jaffna.
We would had seen the bigger scale of Tamil genocide in Jaffna than the one in Mulliavaikal should the SLA break out from the siege of LTTE in 1990.
