skyrocketed by more than Rs.700,000 as a result of the massive taxes being imposed on such imports.
Apart from the taxes, there is also the depreciation of the Rupee which would add to the cost. Up until recently, the Dollar was around Es. 113/- which has since reached 130/- or even more. The extra currency cost will also add the Taxes further increasing the cost.
The additional currency cost could have been avoided if importers covered exchange fluctuations thru Forward Exchange contracts.

oppsss...now these private exporters won't be able to export three-wheelers from the UK and Japan.
I don't know the reason behind the 3 wheeler may be the India but the other bikes are imported from Japan.
Car dealers and the government are working together :) lolz
Who's going to buy from dealers when you can buy much cheaper from a private seller. But now it will be a different case.

| I think this is a short term increase because tax on vehicles is one of the biggest income for the government. Top of that the government get the income from Bureau Veritas from each vehicle. Trico and other shipping companies directly effected by this. The government will study the movements of the Vehicle imports and act accordingly. |

Unless the dealer shows evidence of showing higher taxes, you shouldnt pay higher price for the car for which you already gave an advance.
Dealers negociate the price of the car, taxes are beyond their control, asking them to absorb this cost could put them out of business.
The govt should have given a reasonable grace period before the taxes take effect. If the govt has not done that the dealer should address the issue with a seperate line item on the invoice so the customer knows what he paid as taxes and has the ability to check.
Soon there will be a huge demand for two wheelers
And bulls too!

Donkey pimpia,
LLRC is created by Sri lanka and they will do it in their own time.
But the additional conditions in the UN resolution will not be done by the government.
So Fake Russian fool what is there to discuss if EU only wants to implement the LLRC? What joker this fake Russian clown is?
Why USA and EU took Srilanka to UNHRC in the first place? They knew very well that your leader is fooling, he had more than three years to solve these issues. Now do the implementation within one year or face USA and EU trade sanctions.
BTW, I again and again stand on my words.
Russia is not so happy with Srilanka's leadership........ Srilankan Ambassador in Moscow visited three times to meet F/M Lavrov regards to UNHRSC issue.
