I think that you are not correct. Certainly it is not to insult the unfortunate disadvantaged people of SL.
That is Tamils don't want to go back to Tamilnadu where 86% don't have toilets. |

TNA MP proposes third party mediation
The political dialogue between the government and the Tamil National Alliance (TNA) has hit a fresh snag with MP Suresh Premachandran suggesting third party mediation for talks.
Mr. Premachandran told the Daily Mirror that he requested both the government and his party to give serious thought to his suggestion if they were genuinely interested in evolving an early solution. He said the United Nations (UN), the European Union (EU) or the South Asian Association for regional Co-operation (SAARC) could possibly play such a mediatory role.
'We had talks with the government for more than one year. It took us nowhere. Therefore, in my opinion, third party mediation is absolutely needed for the successful conclusion of talks. This is my humble suggestion. I do not propose anyone in particular as the facilitator. However, it can be the UN, the EU, the SAARC or a group of nations. Going by our past experiences, I believe that such a role is all the more important,' the TNA MP said. |

A very capable person is a very rare commodity in the Foreign Affairs section. The nincompoops in foreign affairs are incapable of understanding or appreciating a very capable person. Obviously, he has his detractors who will be only too happy to blame him for their inefficiency/incompetence.
To accuse Dayan Jayatilleke of being anti-Srilankan is highly FAR-FETCHED. |

Is this something new in Sri Lanka?
No!!
The government is putting forwards all sorts of 'excuses' to show the public that its not the fault of it.
Wholesale traders are no better than the government for price hikes.
The state, the food importers and the wholesale traders are all so clever to make a quick buck and the general public fall from the frying pan to the fire!
Nobody is bothered about the poor man even during festive seasons!

IT is the govg fault that Onions and Potato, Dhal..sugar like
items have increased prices.
Govt came 2005. Since then what did they do to become Sri Lanka self-sufficiant in Foods. Wholesalers import everything at the expense of local products. After that, scream about lack of foreign exchange.
Cane sugar increases diabetis. but, what govt has done in order to cut down sugar consumption, replace sugar consumption with Kithul hakuru like things.
That is why Sri Lanka needs a full overhaul of the system.
None of the existing people fromt hat old boys club can not do that. Status quo no longer works.

I have read some of your postings, while I agree with some, including this posting, you always pass the onus to others to find remedies aand solutions. You are a senior memeber, I am only a puppy. Can you please suggest atleast one , that couldr emedy the dire straite Sri Lanka Lanka in at the moment. Do you agree that we are now beyond redemption and we are daily sinking, sinking and sinking. You could be the one who could resurrut us from this impending doom

You did not address to me but I would like to make my points. I think/feel you are a open minded and very reasonable person.
Since winning the war MR.R thought he is the smartest, cleaver politician of the world. Yes, he won the war with the help of SF and GOTA. Still he thinks that he has done it alone and Jailed SF with synthetic or crimed he did not commit. That's the first MR.R's mistake. Basically, SF was not a smart or dirty politician and his uncontrolled words (blabbering) used by MR.R to Jail him and trying to keep for ever. But the main reason for that SF is the only main opponent. So, MR R did make this decisions not for the country but to safeguard and consolidate his egomaniac power.
Some people understood and realized it right away, some later and some still can not understand or do not want to understand.
All army leaders and soldiers who supported SF were either reprimanded or made them to retire.
Sorry to say but most of Sinhalese are very revengeable people, so army personnel who were angry at MR.R used all photos, cell phone photo material, what they saw during the war to take revenge against MR.R. Unfortunately, West and LTTE Tamils purchased and used them for their advantages. This is all about UNHRC.
MR.R is an egomaniac leader who wasted billions billions of dollars (Loaned) to keep his name, Extravaganzas, MIHIN AIR, HAMBATOTA PORT, NEW AIRPORT....etc.
Some how, somebody must stop theses waste and put that money for investments. Put solar power projects in each villages.
And other hand, keep over 200 of YES SIR ministers, some of them are world renowned drug dealers, thugs and killers. No laws apply to them and protected by the leaders. Two tier system of laws in Srilanka, one for Ministers their friendly Drug lords and killers. One for ordinary people. World sees these and West and Tamils use it for their advantage.
They ask, How come country can provide human rights (Justice)to minorities when you can not provide that to your majority Sinhales people?
