Chinese firm wants to invest US$ 50bn in Sri Lanka?

The Ministry of Industry and Commerce says a Chinese firm is planning to invest an unbelievable US$ 50 billion in Sri Lanka to develop a port city in Hambantota, which would be the largest ever foreign investment in the country at a staggering 83 percent of GDP.

Lanka IOC has once again requested approval from the Ministry of Petroleum Industries to increase fuel prices. Managing Director of Lanka IOC Mr. K. R. Suresh Kumar stated that a request was made to increase diesel and petrol prices by Rs. 15.
