The government has referred the lease of the 99 numbered oil tank farm at Trincomalee to Lanka Indian Oil Corporation under the United National Front government (2001-2004) to the Attorney General for legal opinion.
I do not think, Srilanka can do anything here unless pay penalty or all their expenses. |

Not exactly. Firstly, a Libyan style intervention is completely out with the Russians having a big stake in Syria.
Can the Opposition do it all by themselves? Impossible.
Secondly, the regime change in Syria is to clear the path for Israel to get involved in an attack against Iran. It is Israel that is pushing for attack on Iran.
Thirdly, the Americans have no stomach for any more military action in the Middle East, having got bogged down in Afghanistan and Iraq and that too not against Iran which is much more stronger than Afghanistan and Iraq combined. This being Election year, Obama and other White House aspirants have to play ball with the powerful Jewish Lobbies and keep beating the war drums against Iran.
Syria being cut off from Iran would not amount to encircling Iran any more than it already is because Iran has NO common border with Syria. But Iran does have a common border with Iraq which has a lot of Shias and Shia militias and an American military adventure against Iran can open the pandora's box in Iraq for the Americans.
That means, if the Syrian regime can hold on till the Elections are over in America, there is unlikely to be an attack on Iran. |
