The wife of the missing cartoonist Pradeep Ekneligoda says she was cross-examined at the Homagama courts over totally irrelevant matters in a petition she has filed citing former attorney general Mohan Peiris as the respondent.
Sandya Ekneligoda said she was questioned at the court yesterday (Mar. 26) regarding her presence at the UNHRC session in Geneva.
She said that she was asked about the purpose of her last foreign visit, how she received
funding for the tour, payments she had received from the sponsors and whether she knew beforehand a resolution was to be tabled there against Sri Lanka.
Mrs. Ekneligoda has filed the petition over a remark by the ex-AG at the previous UNHRC session that he had evidence to prove that the cartoonist was living in another country.
She said that cross-examination at a court hearing pertains to the earlier evidence, but that what had transpired at the Homagama court was clearly an attempt to deny her the right to make her case to the international community and to brand her a traitor.
The cartoonist s wife added that she had gone to Geneva to highlight the disappearance of her husband, but that the government was now accusing her of having acted against the government and the country.

Pimpiya,
It is a million dollar question. SL in a situation of 'Devil or the Deep Sea'. Even if the UNP come to power another set of thugs will take over and the same thing will continue.
But no one can beat MR and his gang for the ruthless murders, unbelievable war crimes, rape, lying, plundering and wasting public funds.
IF we get rid of MR and the presidential system then there will be some improvement provided the sinhala modayas become alert and wise and see the reality. |

Let the people decide. If they voted for him, they will have to live with it until the term ends. |
