The Mattala international airport is scheduled to be opened on November 18 this year, the day the President celebrates his birthday and third anniversary since he took office for the second term.
Unfortunately, some Srilankan still can not understand that this egomaniac leader is the problem and making mess in the country. Yes he won the war with the help of SF and GOTA. Rather than focus on the country's problems he did destroy all opposition parties and bribed their members just to consolidate and safeguard his power.He is cleaver but as cbk's word ' rajapaksas are uneducated and uncultured ra..scals'.
Look at all white elephants projects using foreign loans, Mihin Air, Hambatota port, new Airport, new monorail project........etc?
Now he is planing to bribe airlines with free landing rights to new airport. What a fool! Can't you see that Colombo Airport will lose all that income?

Sri Lankan politicians are so weird. Though they claim, they work for the country, in reality, they work for themselves. So the government built an air port spending more than 300 million dollars of poor tax payers to be given free landing to international carriers? This is not the right time to spend 300 million dollars to build another air port in Hambanthota, rather they should expand the Katunayake airport first since all tourists arrivals are happening there - Poor planning and management.
Private sector follow where profits are, so this is not a profitable investment? another Mihin air to boost self image of the president? Government takes foreign loans for these fancy projects and the people of Sri Lanka will have to pay back them, not the politicians. |
