It is a pity that political turncoats as Somawansas who are mentally feeble and unstable view these resolutions as detrimental to our sovereignty , while political analysts unlike him who are far sighted are of the view that their stance is to once again plunge this country into racial turmoil.
How can anyone who is sane and sensible call these resolutions as foreign imperialism? Wasn t the LLRC constituted of indigenous Sri Lankans? How can a request to implement the recommendations of such an LLRC of Sri Lankans be detrimental to the country s sovereignty ?
The Executive President of SL who thought based on his stupid arrogance that even a fly cannot fly over his head is now subject to international fetters and restraints. This is some kind of relief to those who are opposed to the Executive Presidency. A barrier has been placed before him in order to make him respect human rights .
This can be utilized as an opportunity by the Sri Lankans to work in co ordination with world s advanced countries like America.
What are the countries that stood by MaRa regime ? Let us take the two big countries like China and Russia , after leaving aside the mini states. While 0.45 % of our total exports are to China , imports from China constitute 12% of our total import .The loss incurred by SL s trade with China in 2005 was US dollars 600 million which rose to US dollars million 1044 in 2008 .In 2008 , when SL was making a profit of US Dollars 46.8 million on exports , the Govt. was disbursing US dollars 1091 to China due to imports from that country. China providing aid to SL built a Hambantota Harbor which is serving no purpose. China on the on going projects had not even provided labor job opportunities to Sri Lankans. All those working in those projects are Chinese nationals. SL suppliers in respect of these projects are made meager payments .So is Russia. In the least these countries have not even helped the youths of this country to secure jobs. These youths are able to get jobs and save some money only in a country like South Korea. Isn t it little wonder why the youths are making a scramble to go to Korea , and not Russia or China?.
Not only countries like South Korea, Malaysia and Singapore, even neighboring India developed not by trailing behind China and Russia, but by joining hands with Western countries like America and the Europe.
SL youths are possessed of excellent computer skills. They seek to develop and build their future not by going to Russia and China where their languages cannot help in computer work or skill advancement , but rather to America and European countries in the West.
In the circumstances , the intelligent youths of Sri Lanka who are true Buddhists nurtured in the traditions of ahimsa based on the Mhindu -Sangamitta ancestry as mentioned earlier ought to join with Western and Europeam countries with humaneness. They have therefore got the best opportunity now to defeat the inhuman despotic family reign and destroy the murderous clans.

Charlie,M.R. is not clean either. I have a feeling they go back a long way. However, lately I think MR has been tightening screws on this guy.So just wait. This may be a setup.

An illegally imported consignment of 13,000 litres of rectified spirits worth Rs. 300 mn for the manufacture of liquor was taken into custody by sleuths of the Excise Department at Malwana in Biyagama.
Why rectified spirit is this expensive.
It is very cheap. |

Please see the original of the video which shows Sinhala soldiers being shot by LTTE. In this you can hear the voices of the LTTE cadre speaking in Tamil dressed in the soldiers clothes (that s why they are naked!). This same video was later dubbed to appear as if Sinhala soldiers are killing Tamils. The dubbed video was the main video which was used by CH4. This is the best proof that the CH4 video is a fake. The original truthful video was in Facebook and just before LTTE removed it a patriot managed to rescue and put it on a private web site where it is safe. Please check to see for yourself if this is fake or not.

What is the yardstick for development? Is it and increase in economic statistics with the rich getting richer and the poor getting poorer which is the case even in the citadel of Capitalism, the U.S.? Remember, just a few weeks ago, Americans were protesting in various major cities in the U.S. against the 1% who dominate the economy by exploiting the 99%.
It is not correct to say Malaysia developed by aligning with the West. In fact Mahathir, the former PM, refused to bow down to the diktats of the IMF and the World Bank and developed the country without depending on the West. Even Singapore followed an independent course without depending on the West entirely.
While our youth may have greater opportunities in the West, it does not follow that we should blindly follow the West when it comes to International relations. There was NAM which was a force to be reckoned with starting in the 1960s till the end of the Cold War but the disintegration of Yugoslavia, a founder member, following the end of the towering figure of Tito along with the rise of the BJP in India left the NAM rudderless.
The guiding principle in international relations should be ' No permanent friends only permanent interests' as the saying goes. |

His idea of being the Human rights Minister of Sri Lanka playing down his substantive role as Minister for Plantation was to give in wherever possible to the demands of the opposition. It didn t work. He was outdone by the opposition by his opposition who used human rights to hammer him and defeat him in Geneva.
OVer 100 ministers. Still some have to jump from one to the other.
Why we could not get one more vote ?
He was bending over backwards to appease the opposition, hoping he could win over the INGOs, the West and India and return home covered in glory. But it was a disaster. He was devoting more time over leadership battles in Geneva than focusing on viable strategies to face the opposition. He failed even to keep the government delegation together. His personal obsession to be the leader of the delegation in Geneva at any cost outdid all other considerations. On one occasion he was nearly thrashed in the lobby of the intercontinental Hotel by a government delegate and he was saved only by the timely intervention of Rauf Hakeem.
IDIOTS OR TRAITORS WERE SENT THERE TO DEFEND SRILANKA ?
Lost In his pompous attempts to parade as the leader of the delegation he mishandled the operations giving more space and time to those out to nail Sri Lanka than those who were committed to defend Sri Lanka, One of the big events of the Government was to run a side-event which provides a platform to present Sri Lanka s case to Ambassadors, INGOs, NGOs etc. Samarasinghe s side-event ended up by giving grand opportunities for the Tamil expats and the INGOs to lambaste Sri Lanka, silencing most of the committed defenders of Sri Lanka. The worst was when, to the horror of the Sri Lankan team, he announced publicly at this side event that there was no US Resolution on the table against Sri Lanka in Geneva. If there wasn t a Resolution against Sri Lanka what the hell was he doing there? Was he leading the delegation to fight Prof. G. L. Peiris, other government delegates and committed defenders of Sri Lanka?
Was Mahinda Samarasinghe bad in English OR was he paid by some one ?
He also rushed to stop the exposure of Amnesty International when it was accused of taking $50,000 from the pro-Tiger arm in Canada, the Canadian Tamil Congress. But he did not stop the rattled AI representative accusing the delegate who raised the issue as a spokesperson for the Ministry of Defence. Samarasinghe was taking cover under technicalities of procedure but the same rules were not applied to the anti-Sri Lankan forces blasting his government.

After all, he is on the records of Wikileaks where the American Ambassador had quoted Samarasinghe as saying that he won t sacrifice his politics, principles and career for the Rajapakses.

The first time Sri Lanka won in 2009 it was with the aggressive diplomacy of Dayan Jayatileke. He won with far less resources than was made available to Mahinda Samarasinghe, The Government sent the biggest delegation ever to fight the battles in Geneva and Samarasinghe lost. He squandered away the opportunities that came his way with his counter-productive inter-active dialogue and mismanagement of events in Geneva
MAy be minister was paid handsomely by LTTE Tamils
The government spent sizeable amount in putting together a delegation from the expatriates, particularly Tamils. But at the side-event Samarasinghe managed successfully to stifle their voices and give liberal opportunities for the Tamil expatriates to attack the government.
It may be the minister was given far far more than that he could handle.
Two Tamil doctors who had written papers to read out were not given the chance to put their case before the side-event because Samarasinghe said it was not in conformity with his process of an inter-active dialogue . It was the voice of the LTTE lobby that was given the best opportunity with Samarasinghe s interactive dialogue . The more articulate LTTE lobbyists took the opportunity to attack the Rajapakse government with ease.
Another example is the throttling of the voice of Arun Tambimuttu, the son of the Sam Tambimuttu, TNA MP and his wife who were gunned down at the Canadian embassy. Arun narrated the suffering of the Tamils under the LTTE illustrating it with his own experiences. Immediately after him V. Kirubakaran, the pro-Tiger activist in Paris, was given the floor and he lambasted Arun as an agent of Mahinda Rajapakse. Arun s waving of his hand to attract the attention of Samarasinghe and rebut the charges of Kirubakaran was ignored by Samarasinghe, So it was Kirubakaran who had the last word and not Arun.
