This is exactly what I said. 'Free education from the majority', what BS is it?
So Tamils are beggars just living at your charity and this is why I said they are oppressed.
Their doing well in education is due to hard work and determination and also is a cultural behaviour. This is why at one time the 'majority' brought in that tamils had to score more marks than the Sinhalese to enter university.
By the way bro, do you know the number of sinhala professionals like doctors, engineers, IT guys are running away from SL every day. The other day I was shocked to learn a very nationalistic sinhala patriot professional calling me from NZ saying that he has left the country!
Never Again never say such stories never again and please be honest. This is why the guys in Geneva (SL gang)are now becoming violent and resorting to typical Mahinda style behaviour....ado...style as they have run short of facts.

Let me pick one telling example of the extreme chauvinism and meanness of the Sri Lankan government. President Rajapaksa suddenly ordered that that the national anthem not be sung in Tamil at official events even in the Tamil speaking majority areas of the north and east of Sri Lanka. In its interim report released over one year ago the LLRC recommended that this irrational and abusive order be reversed. The government has to date failed to do so. How much more and how many more different ways does the government of Sri Lanka want to humiliate and alienate the Tamil people?
Is this true?
Can someone verify please?

You seem like a decent man and I will speak with respect (unlike some others in LNP)
The truth is, during the 1960s and 70s even, my understanding is that a very large percentage of university students in EFAC and Medicine were tamils (- 50%). You may say they worked harder than the sinhalese. There have been many stories about this but I will not repeat them here. The point is, majority sinhalese paid to educate a larger percentage of tamils. Moreover, most government departments were headed by tamils. There was nothing wrong with that except when GOSL tried to fix the imbalance with standardization, tamils took up arms.
Now the story is different. Most tamils have left (now called diaspora - educated in SL but earning a lot in the west). Sinhalese are doing the same (like us). We should never forget the country that gave us free eduation and that goes for tamils and sinhalese both. |

I believe there is no law agains singing the anthem in any language.
I wonder how they do that in India where there are many languages.
