Opposition and UNP Leader, Ranil Wickremesinghe hands over scholarships worth Rs. 190,000 to the two children of the slain fisherman Anthony Fernando at the Opposition Leader s office in Colombo yesterday. Fernando was shot dead during a recent protest by fishermen in Chilaw against fuel price increases. UNP National Organiser Daya Gamage, Puttalam District MP Range Bandara and MPDr Jayalath Jayawardena look on. Gamage has offered to sponsor the two children s education.
