With the expected energy sector boom and potential for more renewable sources of power, Mackwoods Energy yesterday launched its Initial Public Offering to raise Rs. 350 million with a 25 percent stake of the company offered through 25 million shares priced at Rs. 14 each.
The raised capital would be invested in three areas. According to the company it would be utilized as working capital for its current thermal power project, to develop five small hydro power projects and future expansion.
Mackwoods Group Co-Chairman Ms. Nirmali Samaratunga said the power sector was bound to boom with the country s GDP growth forecast being high and even at present the government was facing difficulties in meeting the country s energy demand.
She said the growing energy demand needed to be met urgently and Mackwoods was ready to participate in National development focusing on renewable sources of energy productions and mainly through hydro.
The five small hydro power units which would add 6.2 MW to the grid would cost the company a total investment of Rs. 1.2 billion and the power produced by them can be sold at Rs. 14.58 per unit for a 20 year period. These plants are expected to be completed by 2014.

Yes, not only I did wright at that time, I brought 3 BOI approved foreign businesses to Srilanka too.
Here we go...... revealing the truth.......Then the project failed and fake didn't get his commission....??
