Gajan Thamby,
You being a pundit always forget what I say. I agree that LTTE in particular and other groups including your bosom buddy Douglaaaas devananda killed civilians. But before that Sinhalese started killing tamils and that is how the violence strated.
Your cry for tamils treating the low casts is a different issue but yet they were not killed or raped or burnt alive. Ha..ha..killed during eating....were you there and what were they eating? Even sinhalays (soldiers) shot and killed tamils in the refugee camp during 1983 in A'Pura...do you know that Thamby gajan?
Just read this and already see how many madayan gullible are ready to draw conclusion that tamils or LTTE had killed the soldiers. The sinhala politicians obviosuly know their own people and that is why they cheat them and hoodwink them You are one such man.
It has now been revealed that a Soldier shot himself after killing two other soldiers over a personal dispute in Chavakachcheri, Jaffna, Military Spokesman Brigadier Nihal Hapuarachchi stated.
According to initial investigations, there is no third party involvement in this case, it was due to a personal dispute, the spokesman said.
Mean while the army Head Quarters said in a statement,
Three soldiers who were on duty at Murugan Kovil, Chavakachcheri were killed due to a shooting incident last night. Initial inquiries have revealed that the shooting was due to a personal dispute among the three soldiers and that there was no third party involvement. Chavakachcheri Police is conducting further investigations.

What is this political solution the West is trying to force down our throats? Is it a fair system where all citizens have equal rights and equal opportunity?
No.
Western countries advocate a political solution that is acceptable to Tamils. They conveniently ignore the Sinhalese people s, Muslim people s needs and aspirations.

The devolution of power to the Provinces means to the rest of the provinces in Sri Lanka as well.
Imagine giving Land, Police and Finance powers to Western Province Chief Minister Prasanna Ranatunga.

The 13th amendment set up the Provincial Council system in each province with a high court in each & a wide range of powers devolved to the provinces including police & land powers & a reserved list retained by the Central Government.
For Sri Lankans the Indian intervention was similar to bifurcating East Pakistan into Bangladesh.
The devolution of powers was in itself a failure with the first Chief Minister of the North-East provincial council making a unilateral declaration of independence in 1990.
Let it also be noted that the Federal Party conveniently coined so in English to cover the Tamil self-determination Illankai Tamil Arassu Katchchi was formed by S J V Chelvanayagam in 1949 well before any qualms with regard to discrimination. That the Federal Party lost parliamentary elections in 1952 winning just 3 seats shows that the Tamil community did not favor separatism.

Sri Lanka must tell the world that it is & it will remain a Unitary State with equal rights to every citizen. Sri Lanka does not need to create provisions based on ethnicity, caste, creed etc.
Tamils need to remember that it was the LTTE that ethnically cleansed the Sinhalese & Muslims from the north and eastern provinces & that was how the LTTE ran a de-facto system.
Tamils must not forget how they suffered in the hands of the LTTE, how their wealth were confiscated for a supposed cause , how they had to pay taxes , how their children were abducted & made into child soldiers & Tamils must remember at all times that it was the LTTE that blocked the progress of the Tamils economically, socially & spiritually. LTTE was nothing but a mafia unit helped by the Tamil Diaspora for their own selfish interests.
Surely, most of the Tamil Diaspora must have breathed a sigh of relief when LTTE fascist regime came to an end in Sri Lanka and their overseas funds collectors could not come to their homes demanding contributions to the Final War. They no longer had to fork out the money they saved to educate their children.
