Sri Lankan's has more things to worry about than a Fonseks who serves his term in the jail - if he doesn't want to plead for pardon then let him stay no, who cares??

I met a friend of mine who lives in the UK the other day and he has an album of photos taken with Sarath The Fonseka - he was at the 222 Brigade HQ and he has met the fellow in Bengamuwe Nalaka thero in 1999.

I asked my friend about Fonseka - was he good? instead of replying he told me a story. He said he asked a direct question from Fonseka about the war,

My friend - can we win this war?
Fonseks - No we can't, because the was is fought by politicians and our kollo are just dying in the front line.

This was when Chandrika was the president and Rathwathe was the defence minister.

Sadly, the same Fonseka went on to say that I won the war.. I won the war.. eureka.. eureka! after Prabhakaran was killed in 2009.

Mahinda got the retired major general back into service and offered him the top job.
Mahinda went through all the pressures from the world.
Mahinda gave hope to the people got them lining up to join army at a time when everyone was deserting.
Mahinda kept economy going.

Gota ensured technology for the Gov forces.
Gota ensured unity between army, navy, airforce and police - fonseka fought with Karannagoda.
Gota ensured all military procurements are in order and in place in time.

Fonseka planned the war and gave responsibilities to the right people but he wasn't on his own. He had the joint opp-team backing him up. Fonseka was a good soldier and a good leader which of becasue lead to victory in 2009 - but after the war, way the way he turned his back on everyone I felt what a guna makuwa he is.. he went kade for UNP/JVP who were looking for an scapegoat knowing the defeat. With those qualities I can't imagine a person like Fonseka ever running a country, never..

So what worries us???

But can Fonseka clean the mess of these old and utterly useless politicians?

Stop the culture of giving perks to these useless bunch of politicians to remain in power?

Perhaps give more young people decision making power in cabinet than these old lot with outdated ideas, technologies.

Yes I think Fonny would.

yes he might, but still that is alone is not enough to rule a country.

Also a fellow with a bad mouth and a heart cant be a good leader.

Anoma, said that the only 'wrong' if it could be described as such, was her husband s decision to challenge Mahinda Rajapaksa for the presidency

all ponsekiens forgetton the fact that MR could have easily blocked Ponseka contesting the elections by rejecting or delaying his resignation.
But instead MR accepted it promptly and told him to come back after he loose the game.
That is what exactly happened.

I dont think even Anoma is willing to see Ponseka freed.
