Sri Lankan economy is run in order to keep the leaders popular and not for the betterment of the country.

Central Banks spent over $'1.5 billion to defend LKR against USD for last year.

For that amount we could have built 2 Norochcholai coal power plants with our own money.

bad investments like Hambanthota port, cricket stadiums, Mihin air, buying back Sri Lankan air, Shell gas etc. will going to haunt our economy in near future.

	Not until the maids working in the middle east send money. even with that money there is a balance of payment issue. that's what hitting us now forcing LKR to float Stock exchange got bad name after manipulations by our politicians related traders. (when CSE tried to punish them they fired CSE top men) FDIs drying up - nationalizing the private companies impacted to it for certain amount. .

Nationalizing pelawaththa Sugar, privatizing other sugar producing companies,

Govt passes legislation to import molasses.

There is no any logical thinking there. Just emotions to make politicians and their henchmen happy.

Underneath, there should be hand changes in hefty commissions.

The District Court for the Southern District of New York has dismissed a lawsuit filed by Tamil victims of the armed conflict in Sri Lanka against Shavendra Silva, a former Sri Lanka Army general, who is now Sri Lanka's Deputy Permanent Representative to the United Nations in New York, a statement released in Washington today said.
