A group of young parliamentarians and political party representatives yesterday urged the government to do away with Victory Day celebrations from next year in order to promote reconciliation. CT- By Gagani Weerakoon

The group of young parliamentarians and political party representatives had sent a delegation to London last year where they met the key repre-sentatives of the Diaspora.

Addressing the media in Parliament yesterday they said that the second generation of the Tamil Diaspora is willing to return to the country.

Parliamentarians who represent all parties said they believe that they can bring about a change and help the country and Diaspora to reconcile on various issues of contention.

What sort of 'contentions and issues' does this 'second generation of the Tamil Diaspora' have in Sri Lanka?

Alleged rapists will be suspended from party President
July 11th, 2012

President Mahinda Rajapaksa said, at an SLFP Central Committee meeting held at Temple Trees last night, that all members of the SLFP who had been accused of rape and child abuse would be suspended from the party and not allowed to contest any elections.

He added that if any members were found guilty of such crimes in a court of law they would be expelled from the party.

CRIME BLOWN OUT OF PROPORTION

Unlike in years gone by, today most of the crime and rape cases are highlighted in the media in a sensational manner by certain newspapers, television and radio stations in a bid to attract the public to their media institutions. Of late, the police have uncovered most of these cases and taken quick action in this regard. In this scenario, one could run away with the idea that that there is a surge in crime.

Tamils could innocent people for 30 years and they hav not apologized even to date.

How about that ?

It must also be emphasized, that the delegation received much support and encour-agement from the High Commission in London. MPs Wasantha Senanayke (UPFA), Eric Weerawardana (UPFA), Kanaka Herath (UPFA), Harin Fernando (UNP), Niroshan Perera (UNP), Hunais Farook (ACMC), and Raghu Balachandran, representing TNA participated in the compilation of the report.

Whose who of these a. Has have gone to war ?

They just try to manipulate the system. People should vote them out. Hardly, three years after so many getting killed and so many becoming disabled. They are forgotten already by these scum.

In the North Centrl Province One govt minister resigned in order to get his brother elected and appointed as the NCP chief minister. Once everything is finished he was reappointed as Minister again.

Elected offices are used in that way and bending rules as it fit's their comvenience is SIMPLY CORRUPTION.

THAT MEANS THE GOVT SUPPORTS A LAWLESS COUNTRY.
