I don't think any one is getting upset other than you hoping them to be upset.
I was in SL not that long ago, people even there although apprecative of what VP did they are moving on. According to a few I spoke VP did more than what was expected and lived 20years more than anyone expected him to. |

Yep, that 20 years he lived put you guys back 100 years. Quite an achievement.
Of course there are people who still appreciates what VP did.... like me. Without him, we could not have changed the demographics of this country... :) |

See he was many things to many people so stop complaining and say thankyou.
Demographics always evolve some times its good sometimes its bad. You think the change has been good for you and I am honestly happy for you on the other hand although I have no intention of settling back in SL what he has done to Tamils is great which they would realize in another 25 years.
The current govt and future govt will be pumping a lot of resources into N/E which would have never happened without VP's and LTTE's 35 years of sacrifice.
If you go to Col you will realize the common guy on the street is Tolerent towards Tamils and the language which was not there even during the good times of the 70's.
I dont need to say the amount of Tamils that were able to leave the country and make better futures because of VP.
Those that are not able have moved south, you see a lot of small shops and selfemployed Tamils. I don't need to tell you about their spirit and I see them again capturing a major part of the economy in 25 years.
So I dont think there is anything wrong in people been appreciative of VP.

I dint ask this specific question but thinking back I don't think they had any. Their objective was to take a stand and then negociate after making the point but VP had other idea's. Thats where he over stayed 20years more than expected and created a military of sort not a rebel outfit that becomes an hindrance to a govt.
more distrcutions in the south?
I dont think anyone wanted that because Tamils normally have their roots and live in the north but make their money in the south. Destroying it is not good for business. |
