Minister said the situation with regard to Air Lanka was same during the late J. R. Jayewardene regime as adequate investments were not made by the state during that time as well.


I do not think so. Now Airlanka cabin services are so low, specially London-Colombo. May be crew heads are employed by politicians or by their recommendations?.

Guys, I will tell you later(no time now) a story how Mihin Air tried to take long term lease of Cargo plane (AN-12) from Ukraine. I was a paid consultant for Lessor.

In my opinion having two strategical business units under the synergy of one corporate strategy is a good way to go!
in EU, most of the major carriers have their own budget airline units as well!
in recent times many budget airlines have started operations in to sri lanka and soon srilankan will not be able to compete as it is..srilankan should concentrate on longer distance while mihin should expand to cover the regional places..
