At least People inside Sri Lanka should be allowed to open private universities. Because, right now our education is not well diversified and does not fulfill all the needs of the country.

Otherwise, govt alone can not afford to do that.

Otherwise, people should start paying fees. So, govt can open more secondary education institutions. But, people can not afford.

Sri Lankan university students including employees are very destructive and they increase the cost of providing education.

they don't understand the reality.

About 99% of these guys don't really understand for what they are protesting. They are frogs in a well and also continue to do so.

When they decide to leave the country for better life then still they carry with them the same ideas and attitude and never come out of the mess.

Maha Shame is a good example. After living in the US, still carrying with him the cheap racist ideas instead of more progressive thoughts.

Look at wickiya, making his living in Arab country but still bogged down to stupid sinhala thoghts. No global thinking at all.

Why????? Because they did not have proper, wider, broader education.

AnuD and seethrough - very true postings by you.

Those are faggots bundled together with aimless revolutionary ideas that will never fill their empty skulls to distinguish what is right and what is wrong. They are just instigated by some political party or parties and they do not know why they are making such a hue and cry against the proposal for private universities.

fee-levying universities which deprive the right of free education

How can that be?????? Those who get into the state universities will not be deprived of free education, will they?????

All those who are unable to get into the state universities due to the limited spaces and the resulting competitiveness to enter, will make use of the fee levying universities. Even now that is happening but those students are going overseas.

With the locally based fee levying universities a large amount of money that is going out of the country for education can be prevented. Is that bad??????

I feel these chaps are protesting because there prestige is at stake and the chances are that the products of the fee levying universities will be a much much more refined lot than these faggots!!

Private UNiversities are needed.

Only thing is that Politicians's DAughter who did HOME- SCIENCE or the the Son who did Agricultural SCIENCE, both of which seem to be SCIENCE - SUBJECTS should not admitted to the private MEDICAL FACULTY.

I heard Sri Lanka has one Lady doctor who came to the Private Medical Faculty because she had passed HOME SCIENCE.
