Vaiko has lost faith in electoral system in India.... That is another reason for him to take matters into his own hand...!

Whatever EU did after giving 4 years to put right the human rights abuses.
There would have been no cause for cavil whatsoever if the EU had refused to extend GSP+ on the ground that Sri Lanka had failed to maintain certain human rights standards, assuming of course that that was a fair assessment. But the EU went far beyond that in stipulating those fifteen conditions for extension, stipulated furthermore in the manner of an ultimatum which would not have been acceptable to any self-respecting government.
EU had to be abide by their rules and regulations that insist on observing certain standard by the countries that benefit from EU's GSP+ special privileges. How can it be imperialism when they are within their territory when they lay down their rules and conditions.
EU proscribed as a terrorist organisation on the expectation that once LTTE was defeated and decimated the minorities would be treated as equal and not intern behind barbed wires for years. Though the govt claim most of the IDP's are out of the camps they are still languishing in transit camps and their houses and lands are still occupied by Sinhala speaking 'Sri Lankan'army under the cover of HSZ.
15 conditions are vital for good governance, to prevent state intervention in the conduct of the police, judiciary and elections. Judges and police are treated like servants of Rajapakse family, which must be ended.
