Don't get so emotional for our criticizing Sri Lanka.
I understand why you feel so emotional.
I also was born in Sri Lanka, as far As I Know my parents are not recent immigrants, I mean last 500 years, of Sri Lanka.
So, I also have emotions about Sri Lankans.
BTW, Are you the military attache, I men the 2nd officer, in South African embassy for Sri Lanka.

Sri Lanka has far more imports than they export
which means we spend far more than we earn
and that means, if it is for a family, in Sinhala hingana - family Life.
they don't know how to budget.
In other words, destroy Sri Lanka for short term gains which is Votes and winning the elections.

If you read this carefully you migight understand
Gross national product/capita
Gross National Product is the total value added from domestic and foreign sources claimed by residents of a country. In other words it is GDP (Gross Domestic Product, the value of goods and services produced within a country) plus net income received by residents from non-resident sources. GNP/capita is the total divided by the number of people in the country. In other words, GNP/capita is a measure of national income per person
