Figures and statments do not match for some reason. See.

GDP per capita and Disposable income per capita do not grow at the same rate!

I dont think this figure is GDP per capta.
Its in the 4,500 range.

This could be GNP per capta

Is there difference between GNP and GDP ?

It looks like all inflated figures, can not be correct.

Sri Lanka does not look that wealthy by looking at people.

IT is possible thismis the monthly income of 225 politicians

AnuD have you ever learnt elementary economics?? probably not
we learnt the difference in school & you had the audacity to question my education yesterday :)

there was rumor that the female soldier at the camp who died due to the accidental firing of her weapon on 28th evening was in fact raped by a senior army officer a few days earlier

I don't know even to date whether schools teach these things, not by me.

But these temrs appear in news paeprs almost everyday.

So, it is not hard to have an idea about those.

IS that correct ?

Whole range of data- 100ds of types.
Study them & compare to the figures of the countries in the region

Just dont run down Sri Lanka childishly!

We have problems -true
We could have been much better-true!
Politics in SL not ideal true!

But its a FAR FAR different place to what you try to project.
Its really sad -the way some of you talk.
