UNP suspends Abdul Cader from Working Committee * For voting with a SL Govt. on Emergency, Budget

The UNP yesterday, informed Kandy District MP Abdul Cader that he has been suspended from the Working Committee for voting with the government on two specific occasions in direct contravention of party decisions.
Senior Vice President of the UNP, John Ameratunga told The Island that the decision to suspend Cader for voting with the government on the Extension of the Emergency and the Budget, was taken at the last Working Committee Meeting and communicated to him yesterday.
`Cader will be summoned for a disciplinary inquiry shortly. He will have to show cause for his conduct which violated collective decisions taken by the party.`
Asked if the inquiry would be held after the crucial UNP National Convention scheduled for early August, he said `Not necessarily .The process can commence immediately.`
Prior to casting his vote for the government, Cader criticised the UNP leadership for having accommodated Muslim candidates from the SLMC on the UNF s Kandy District list at the last Parliamentary election.
He also publicly expressed his support for the Mahinda Rajapaksa administration.

Hey foolish U.N.P. leadership, Kick them out and make it to 'Luckey Seven'. 'JR' started with 8 MPs and got 2/3, so why can't we, but need correct leadership.'JR' you are great.Make this 'Thambiya' the 2nd 'Suriyapperuma'.
