Kandy - Central Provincial Council at its yesterday's (27) meeting unanimously decided that the International Cricket Stadium in Pallekele be named after the much praised and internationally famed Sri Lankan cricketer Muttiah Muralitharan.


How come they wanted to name stadium in Murali's Tamil name. Discrimination against the Sinhalese?

there was never a discrimination in Sports..

soon after the riots..Vinodhan John represented SL in 1984..

I think Murali deserve it
a Pavilion will be named after him at Galle stadium too where he took his 800th wicket
