Sri Lanka National Freedom Front leader and Minister Wimal Weerawansa s resignation from Cabinet rejected

National Freedom Front leader and Minister Wimal Weerawansa, MP, yesterday submitted his resignation from the portfolios of Housing, Construction, Common Amenities and Engineering Services to President Mahinda Rajapaksa.
Whether the resignation had been accepted or not by the President was not known, Irrigation Minister and Leader of the House Nimal Siripala de Silva said yesterday at a press conference at the SLFP headquarters. But, later in the day the NFF told a media briefing near the UN office in Colombo that the resignation had not been accepted.
Weerawansa started a fast unto death opposite the United Nations Colombo office at Baudhaloka Mawatha on Thursday morning demanding that the UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon disband a three-member expert panel appointed by him to investigate the alleged war crimes committed during the last stages of the war against the LTTE.

| How can the resignation be accepted?????? If WW is sent away who will remain to do this type of street stunt????? I doubt Mervyn Silva doing this type of thing. He, if at all, would have set his thugs on Ban Ki Moon!!! |

It will be accepted in due course, hopefully, when there is no further use of Mr. Weerawanse.
Right now, the Road Show must go on, with its full glory.
It appears that Weerawanse, unlike Vermyn Silva, is not going to stay around the right places long enough to get his Doctorate. |

Wimal W is an efficient actor.
I do not know if he was a cinema or theatre actor.
If he quits the government, finding another joker like him will be a very difficult task for the President.
That is why he refused the resignation.
