Youth Parks for young couples - Sri Lanka Youth Affairs Minister Dallas Alahapperuma

Youth Affairs Minister Dallas Alahapperuma, yesterday emphasised the need to establish youth parks in the country where young couples could enjoy their freedom and spend their time free of obstacles from the outside world.
Alahapperuma said that young boys and girls have the freedom to hold hands and move about on the beach or similar places as long as they did not misbehave and if such couples end up in a police station, it is a tragedy.
The Minister pointed out that due to lack of Youth parks in the country, young couples are forced to enjoy their freedom in places along the beaches from Bambalapitiya to Mount Lavinia, the Vihara Maha Devi Park or Galle Face. `Hence it is not the youth who should be taken into custody, but the irresponsible Youth Affairs Minister,` he said.
Addressing a meeting at the Sri Jayewardenepura Parliamentary Complex, he said the Defence Secretary had agreed to provide a plot of land for the purpose and the proposed Youth Parks will be a reality soon.
The Youth Parks will be replete with landscaped gardens, a mini cinema, open air theatre and a gallery where they could exhibit their artistic products and sell them.

Dulles uncle, what age group is allowed in the youth parks and what is not? Do we have to show proof of age before entering? So, once they enter the park, the parents have to wait outside until they finish what they went inside to do and come back? Is that the idea?
Why Don't you plan observation poins for voyeurs? You can collect good money.
Hey Donkey Dulles, God has given you a mouth to eat with it, not to pass garbage through it.
Freedom for expression of Love and Affection should not be restricted as long as it is performed within the confines of common decency. By the same token, other people's freedom to protest on undesirable behaviour should not be taken away from them by giving youth safe heavens to misbehave.

Sri Lanka is perhaps the only country in the world , where sexual misconduct becomes a national security matter that defense secratery has to be directly involved .
The same defense secratary had made statements in violation of Geneva conventions and International Laws which Sri Lanka is a sigantory.
One of the Ministers of Rajapakse cabinet 'Wihulu Wansa' wants to take UN staff in Colombo under Hostage until Gen Secratary of UN Banki Moon withdraws the panel he appointed to help the Lessons Learned and Reconcilliation comission .
Sri Lanka had become a nation of Idiots following the sucessful defeat of LTTE Terrorism. Looks like the cardboard Heroes can't run a proper show .

Dallas A, how are you going to call these new 'parks'?
We have 'LOVERS LANES' in Sri Lanka since many years...
These new parks should be called 'LOVERS' PARKS'.
Special bus & train services should be provided to 'lovers' to come to Colombo or such 'parks' should be established in all parts of the island.
Sri Lanka is going 'westernized'.
Next project after these parks?
Nudist camps or nudist beaches???

Well Sri Lanka already had those. Naarigama at Hikkaduwa. It went into oblivion with the exodous of tourists. May be with the influx of tourists all that would be revived all over again!! |
