Need not see any more crooks - Here is a crook himself.
For any Sri Lankan who reads this, please be informed that in Canada, the only experience that matters is 'Canadian Experience'. Of course there are a few exceptions. Of course there are Sri Lankans in very good positions as professionals and successful businessmen. For most of them probably 99% or more, if you hear their stories, it is starting a second life from scratch. You are out in the jungle surrounded by a set of wolves, the immigration consultant has forgotten you for good, the moment he collected his money. You are of your own and others around you too are struggling and have hardly any time to help you.
For me, one of the wisest decisions I have ever made is not to hire an immigration consultant when I migrated to Canada. |

Nonsense. This consultant has never worked or stayed in canada. Don't mislead innocent people in sri lanka giving false hopes.
I am also in Canada now(For a small period). There are lot of immigrants who have masters ,Phds are working as labourers,truck and taxi dreivers, paper sellers and many many odd jobs. Immigrants are welcomed to clean cities. cut grass, lift good etc.This country is treated as multi ethnic multicultural but racism is hidden. It is very diificult to get a govt job or top level posts to immigrants. when PR is granted all qualifications are checked . so we hope that we will get a good job here. But after landing to canada no one ask or bother about your qualification. They only ask' Do you have canadian experience?' ('Kunuharupa' they are asking.) How can an fresh immigrant have canadian experience.?
Most immigrants suffer and frustrated here. However most of immigrants do not go back because of shame. Other thing most people from Sri lanka come to here after vacating the jobs, after selling their all property. If they go back they are in serious trouble. So they stay here because they don't have any alternative.
The minimum salary is 10.25 CAD per hour.Highly paid jobs are dreams here. You have to work 8 hrs if you get a job. (Otherwise you have to be in the pavemnet with your stuff.No one comes to help you or ask why.) so then the monthly income would be Canadian dollors 1800. Out of that you have to pay for the Social insuarance scheme and other taxes are also to be paid. So your net income wold be 1600. Out of that you have to pay at least 1100 to your apartment monthly.(you can buy small apartments like cow sheds at 900) If you use the bus to go to work minimum charge is CAD 3. So monthly bus fare would be 120 minimum. Now you have only 320 in your hand.Everything is money here.If you lease a car you have to pay around 200 and insuarance would be 150 to 200.(low quality bread is also 2.50 . Do you imagine that you can eat, dress,give education to your children by spending 320 dollrs?
Other thing is that not like in Sri Lanka, you cannot have any additional income.
The heaven which is explained by immi- consultants is not true. don't give your money to these traitors.
1.However education is very good. If you like to sacryfy all other thinhgs for tour child's education, then come with some money. Don't make dreams to earn here and to send money to your country of be rich.
2.If you do not have anything in Sri lanka(job, property,other income,) Come here and do some labour job. earn some ,eat , live.
3.If you have at least middle level life in sri Lanka Don't come
Have rice and 'Pol sambol' and stay in sri lanka , work for motherland. contribute to develop our contry.
finally Immigration consultants get money and that's finish. Afterwards they ate not responsble for anything
Give this message to others in Sri lanka. I will never encourage any one to come to Canada not because of jealousy. |

No Brother, I don't agree with that. It is a huge challange alright, but there are paybacks too. Be prepared to stand up to it. Don't come only if you're not man enough to face the challange.
AND, don't get caught to the vultures, before and after you arrive and don't believe the pessimists. If you do, you're done for good.

Thanks Upalima2002 for your kind advice to poor Srilankans waiting to come to Canada , dreaming to become quick rich.People who encouraging them to come to Canada do not tell them the 'Monthely payments going out of their hard earnings in Canada, example taxes , Apartment and room charges, social security diductions, medical Etc.Poor job seekers think what ever they earn can keep with them like Srilanka.They do not know Canada gets Snow 5 Feet high in Winter and secreat LTTE organizations and their 'Under the table' tax system in Canada .Please educate the poor Srilankans. |

I agree with DONP and alpenrock. I am in Canada for 21 years. It is true there is a demand for Accountants, Nurses, Elecricians, Engeneers, Doctors etc. For all these they wanr Canadian qualifications. CGA/CMA for Accountants, RPN/RN for nurses. They give a damn for Sri Lankan qualifications. Don't get mislead by what this Bandula guy says. You are welcome to Canada later on after hard work, and struggling you can have a good life in this country. It is good for kids who can have a Canadian eduction and find agood job. My Endocrinologist (Specialist) is a young Sri Lankan doctor who went to Medical School here. So think before you pay any of these Employment Consultants.

Do not think twice - don't pay the ba..ards a cent. It does not make any difference - they cannot influence the process of Citizenship and Immigration Canada. If you are a skilled worker, just fill your application and lodge, if you want to migrate. Save that $3500.00 or $4000.00 that is a lot of money, good for 3 -4 months rental for a 2-bedroom apartment in Toronto including an electric cooker and a refrigerator with all water, electricity and heating bills paid by the apartment owner. |

This is BS and CRAP and a LIe.
Anyone take this as truth is a fool.
WE cannot tell people directly, they think we are jealous.
Come and become labourers.
Accountants, Nurses, Elecricians, Engeneers, Doctors etc. For all these they wanr Canadian qulifications
I know so many accountants, Enignerrs and some doctors who never got proper jobs.
Even by mistake doctors won't get a doctor appointment.

No! not if you get yourself updated to the standards here. For those who think that everything will be served on a platter, it is a huge disappointment.
It is a huge challange here. That is a fact. But you always have a fighting chance. I belong to a learned Profession, I am licensed and I work in that profession. My qualifications are no less than any other Canadian qualification. Nobody invied me to Canada and nobody invited me to take a professional or management position as soon as I landed here. No ! I had to work it out. This was not my country then, I was a stranger. Now it is.
To say that Doctors won.t get a job in their profession is worse bullshit than Abeysinghe's Bullshit. Here, to be a Doctor you need a MD. You cannot become a Doctor with a Bachelor's degree. That is in Sri Lanka. This is Canada.

Qualifying as a skilled worker for immigration to Canada does not mean that your educational credentials and work experience will be recognized or that you will be qualified to work in a particular occupation. You have to build your own way. Re qualified and get Canadian credentials and experience. Definitely it will take some time (may be year or years depending your profession), after hard work. That is not rosy as this crook preaches. Some people have success stories and some do not. You are your own in Canada. This guy looks like to fool many masons, plumbers and carpenters and earn some quick bucks. Those poor people do not have the strength to prosecute this guy after it happened.
The demand for Sri Lankan migrant workers in Canada is at a high level, due to their smartness in executing jobs, innovativeness and good work ethics.
This is hilarious. It is sad to say that our people are miles away in those QUALITIES
If our people are smarter, innovative and have good work ethics than Canadians, Sri Lanka should be a more developed country than Canada. Immigration will take place in opposite direction, from Canada to Sri Lanka. Does Sri Lankan education system build up those qualities in our children? Big NO. They teach how to bend down to your boss. Sri Lankan education system crushes Children s backbone and destroys the creativity. Many schools are the places that abuse children in physically, mentally and in other ways. After those children steps out to the society, do they see any difference in there? |
