'The Sinhalese GRAVELY UNDERESTIMATED the Tamils. Given their sense of selfhood, deriving in part from their numbers in the neighbourhood, their global spread, and the status they enjoyed in other parts of the world, they decided to make a fight of it. That much was inevitable. What was not was the nature, the character of that war its duration and its dynamics.
The international targeting of Sri Lanka on this first anniversary of the victory in the war shows that the Sinhalese have once again UNDERESTIMATED THE TAMILS, who despite their military decimation, have a significant global reserve army and international leverage sufficient to bring an avalanche down on the head of the Sinhala leadership.'
- The Sinhala Chauvinist Dayan Jayatileke-
'I don't think they (TAMILS) are going to be submissive or go away. They are one TOUGH RACE of people.' Mr Lee Kuan Yew also discusses ethnic cleansing in the book, which was released on Wednesday in Singapore.
Singapore s Minister Mentor Lee Kuan Yew, in a newly released book titled Conversations with Lee Kuan Yew, says that Tamils have been in the island of Sri Lanka as long as the Sinhalese, and that Sri Lanka is not a happy united country. The present president of Sri Lanka believes he has settled the problem now that the Tamil Tigers are killed, and wants others to believe that too,
Referring to the Sri Lankan president he said: I have read his speeches and I knew he is a Sinhalese EXTREMIST. I cannot change his narcissistic mind.

THIVYA:
See Sri Lanka Soldiers have been honoured in Haiti.
The recent UN Medal Parade ceremony of Haiti-based Sri Lankan Peace-Keeping contingent drew overwhelming admiration of the attendees, present on the occasion, as it turned out to be a blend of both military and culture.
The customary UN medal parade, the prestigious military ceremony that recognizes the exemplary contribution, made by any specific contingent to maintain law and order in Haiti, saw its Sri Lankan contingent accord a salute to visiting Chief Guests, Mr Luc Duchesne, Chief of Staff to the Special Representative to Secretary General (SRSG) and Major General Luiz Guilherme, Force Commander on the eve of their completion of service and departure from Haiti.
The Sri Lankan UN contingent of 749 serving Haiti at present is expected to return to Sri Lanka shortly, enabling the next Sri Lankan contingent to take over duties. On behalf of those returning troops, Colonel of the Regiment, Sri Lanka Light Infantry (SLLI), Major General Daya Rathnayake who is also the Chief of Staff in the Army, participated in the event as a special guest of honour.

WAs it, Mrs, Amirthaligam who wanted skin Sinhala people and hang them in the Galle - Face?
Mrs. Mangayarkkarasi Amirthalingam (76), widow of slain Opposition Leader Appapillai Amirthalingam, visited his bodyguard T.A. Nissanka who shot dead three LTTE assassins on July 13, 1989.
She was accompanied by her son Dr. Bahirathan Amirthalingam (51). The family was brought to Colombo by the BBC for a radio documentary.
The mother and the son had come for a holiday to Sri Lanka last Thursday and had met Nissanka after 21 years.
The visit to the house at Ambalapitiya in Kegalle last Saturday by Mrs. Amirthalingam and her son was a heartbreaking scene and those who were present could not hold back the tears.
As Mrs. Amirthalingam saw Nissanka, she had embraced him and had started crying as if meeting a child after a long lone time.
Dr. Amirthlingam too had embraced and hugged as if two brothers had met after a long time.
Nissanka s wife Mrs. T.A. Shyamila Pramila Kumari had welcomed both visitors who had come to pay gratitude to her husband and had warmly welcomed them.
On July 13, 1989 under the guise of coming for a discussion with Mr. Amirthalingam three armed members of the LTTE entered the two storied house at Bullers road, Colombo the temporary residence of TULF members and had shot Mr. Amirthalingam and the Jaffna District parliamentarian Vettivelu

Are these guys students or gang members ? Are they learning professional skills or martial skills ?
What's going on in Sri Lanka ? It is as bad as Indian law students beating a fellow untouchable student.
Why do you need universities (private or public doesn't matter ) ?? Edited By - ShivaRebirth - 1 Jun 2010 01:29:14 GMT |

He is a Sinhala Chauvinist, read all his articles, you will know. In my opinion, he is a dangerous Sinhala Buddhist chauvinist than even Anud. |
