Senior Presidential Advisor Basil Rajapaksa received a massive 425,100 preferential votes from the Gampaha district, the highest by any candidate at Thursday s general election. Meanwhile, Namal Rajapaksa by obtaining 147,568 preferential votes recorded the highest majority percentage-wise at the election.
