Digging The Heart Of An Orchid

Monday, 28 September 2009 - 4:05 AM SL Time

Ecuador is probably the country with the highest number of species of orchids in the World in a given area. With 214 genus and around 3259 species (According to Dodson & Escobar, in `Native Ecuadorean Orchids`, vol 1), it is so rich that we can find orchids almost everywhere we go in the country.
In popular literature, orchids have always been seen as symbols of love, seeming to represent the qualities of love and seduction, and have also attracted the interest of scent makers over many centuries. There can hardly be another plant that is a changeable and adaptable as the orchid which belongs to one of the youngest families of plants in the botanical classification system
Their beauty and colors have inspired thousands of artists and attracted millions of enthusiasts around the World.

The structures that I am presenting in this series are all designed to capture the attention of the bee for few seconds. Their graceful appearance draws immediate attention, and their reputation as an exotic and unusual flower evokes a sense of refinement and innocence. With many orchid varieties to choose from and the meanings of orchids being so special, you are sure to find one that can express the right message, whatever the occasion be.

Butterflies in the stomach

Orchid`s Fire Inside

Deep inside there is a light
----------------

The Eyes of an Angel
----------------
In the middle of the wild jungles of the Amazon, sometimes an unexpected shine blind us ... its white petals are so contrasting with the green jungle that one might ask ... is it an Angel?

Color explosion
------------
Love and hope

A Soft skin waiting for a lover
----------------------

Passion and seduction
-----------------
The pink labium and white column of this orchid are designed to attract certain specie, desire to conquer the very heart of the orchid. Have you ever felt the same kind of passion? If you did, then you know how it feels to fall in love with the passion of a bee.

Feeling special
-----------
Notice the miniature prince/princess sat in the chair

I am at Peace
-----------
Notice the color inside contrasting with the rest of the environment around.

A drop Of Red wine
--------------
Cheers

Nice pictures. They reveal the beauty of this universe. A flower is like a star :)

Watch this if you like flowers..
I have tried to do a saturation work involving flowers. But I was quite disappointed with the quality of the clip on Youtube once uploaded. Still some editings are pretty nice, like the 'blue' and green roses.
